I didn't use this for an acoustic gutar at all! I used this to fill in the cavity left behind in my Explorer while converting the bridge from a Kahler Flyer (which I hated) to a T-O-M/stoptail...like normal! haha, like it should be! haha. So...It's a nice, even grained, well carved block. The radised portion was flattened by block sanding, the shaping was done by hand and Dremel. The guitar sounds great! I'm glad i didn't have to buy a huge chuck of wood for this conversion. Thanks StewMac!
