Fine woods for building your own neck Acoustic Guitar Neck Blanks For over 40 years we've supplied select wood for shaping necks in your own shop. Each of today's kiln-dried planed solid blanks are for bandsawing and shaping necks in your own shop. Each blank includes sufficient wood for adding headstock "ears." The mahogany family includes familiar traditional Honduras mahogany, and African Sipo ("seepo"), a slightly denser and bolder-grained version. Spanish cedar (actually neither Spanish nor cedar) is a fragrant, lighter-weight mahogany. It was used for 1800s Martin necks, and has reappeared in several new Martin steel-string models, as well as in classical guitars from custom builders.
