It's a black plastic rod...not much to say really other than it goes in easily and it of nice quality.
This is a great product, effortless to install. One rod does many instruments.
This is the single easiest part of making a guitar and quickly rewarding too. these look great. One stick is enough for a few guitars. Both sizes look great so it is all your taste.
Great little item. Lasts forever, quality part.
Ive used these on many guitars over the years... mark a spot with a center punch, drill and super glue... all good!
This order was to replenish my stock of side dots. Have used it for years Good stuff
High everyone,Don the maddog luthier here to tell everyone about the side dot material available from Stewmac. Using an 1/8" drill bit,and some medium superglue is all it takes. The drill bit give a slight bit of wiggle room, which is great for the glue to get to all the surfaces, after drying I just come in with my flat surface nippers(fretting),cut, use a scraper for final surfacing. The material takes on finish very well,no complaints here. I can do 3-4 fingerboards per stick, and always try to keep some on hand.
This work great. Inexpensive and easy to install. They will easily do several necks.
As simple of a product as this is, it always does the trick. It installs easy and it looks great raw, under an oil finish and under Nitro. I even occasionally use them for face dots on the fingerboard when a small size is required.
It's exactly what you would expect. A .0625 plastic rod. I like this smaller size vastly better than the 3/32nds ones. They look more elegant in the petite size to me.
