This little guy is as handy as a shirt pocket. I keep one in every acoustic guitar case I own.
This might be a stupid question but why doesn't your pin puller fit you pins? Nice key chain!!!
I have ruined or at least marked up so many pins with needle nose pliers. For the money this is a no-brainer, and takes up little room in a toolbox or guitar case. And yes it does work great, unless your pins are counter sunk into the bridge, which is a problem for any pin removal tool.
... or keep it on your key chain. No more looking around for a makeshift lever, or pliers (ouch), to remove those stubborn pegs. Works well.
I bought a few of these as give aways for my better customers. Always a challenge getting those pesky tight pins out without damaging the bridge. These guys work but not if the pin is really tight - they just pop off the top of the pin. Would be better if made from stiffer/harder material. You can get better results if you hold them tightly to aid their grip on the pin head but sometimes I have to resort to something more drastic.
I used this and liked it so much I ordered more for my friends. As a safety precaution I always press down on the bridge while I lift the pin, but this thing works awesome and cuts a lot of time out of my string changes. Brilliant tool.
a must for acoustic guitar player, saves your precious guitar from scratches when using pliers!
It does exactly as it is supposed to do.
Work OK for moderately fixed pins, but for stubborn pins it just pulls off. I think it needs a metal outer body for strength with a plastic cushion to stop pin damage.
After creating several dings with other tools to pull out the pins this one is really a relief.
