Having just gotten an old lap steel back in working order, I thought trying a guitar steel might be better than attempting to use a slide and for the money, why not? This is a really beautiful piece of machined steel, a joy to hold and has a good weight to it. Now my only problem is getting good at using it. Even if you don't play steel guitar it makes a beautiful paper weight!

The best one that I have used yet......

I received a Rhondo lap steel as a gift and was without a slidebar. After careful consideration I took a chance on the Shubb-Pearce. I liked the whole concept of the bar as opposed to a "bullet" type. When I received the bar it took a little while to get my hand adjusted to way you hold the bar. Once used to it, I was off and using the item was very intuitive. Especially like the blunted end for single string notes. The weight is balanced well and the tone is sweet.

This is a great steel for myself, a beginner on the lap steel. It took me a while to figure out that the two ends are different. One is smooth for gliding across the fret board and the other is more distinct and is used for hammer-offs. I'm guess this will last me to my dying day and then my son can use it till his dying day.
