Very good
Strong and reliable. If you can make it half an inch longer it will be perfect. Some guitars need that extra reach.

Strings are strings, right?
Perfect for a 'shorty' mountain dulcimer, and the banjo as well. Good tone.

Best wood glue out there
I use Titebond for every guitar I build, I believe it surpasses all others. I trust it so much I used it to fix a severed neck on a customers 3,000 dollar Washburn N4. Great stuff!

Wow, I love these tuners on my 1917 Gibson A. No telling how many wonderful vintage mandolins can be now revived and played! Thanks for a great product.

Fret Scale Rules, a powerfull tool
Aside from checking vintage fret spacing, check all NEW necks, especially replacement necks, for correct fret spacing. Yes, I have spent hours carefully measuring fret spacing on replacement necks and found the spacing incorrect. These necks will never play in tune. Save yourself time and money by quickly and accurately confirming correct fret spacing on all necks before investing your skills on a neck that will never play correctly.

highly recommended
I first tried one of these (screw mount model) about 10 years ago for a bellied flattop. I was very impressed and have since taken to installing one routinely on all my acoustic guitars. More than a prophylactic against bellying, they improve the tone and volume and make me much less nervous about using heavier gauged strings. My one suggestion would be to include the exact sized drill bits required in the packaged kits. The extra couple bucks the kit would cost would be very well spent!

The real deal
I don't know what's going on with Grover. Those tuners you get with 18:1 stamped on the logo and ones that come with new inexpensive guitars are worthless. This may sound corny but the Grovers you buy here are still the real deal rotomatics.

JLD Bridge Doctor
All my guitars have JLD Bridge Doctors. Besides keeping the top from buckling, it also enhances the sound. It works the same as a soundpost in a fiddle. It makes the whole instrument vibrate. I recommend the bridge doctor for any and all flat top guitars.

specialty tools
Although the previous reviews give this thumbs down, I would say whether using this fret puller or the bigger one you have to learn to walk it across the fretboard and make sure the fret is able to come out without chipping the board if at all possible. Sometimes I have had to keep the soldering unit on the fret longer especially if there is glue underneath the fret. These little specialty tools if used in the right way are quite nice. These smaller fret pullers are also good for just getting under the fret ends as well and then using the bigger ones to walk the fret out of the slot.

Bass String Retainer
These also work great as strap buttons; nice and wide (just use a bigger screw). In fact these retainers are almost the exact size and shape as PRS strap buttons, and a lot less expensive.

Subtle Gradations Necessary for Maintenance
This goes hand-in-hand with other measurement tools such as: Stew-Mac's electronic luthier's calipers, feeler gauges, etc. It's great to have the 1/64th of an inch resolution available as an included feature of this humble, utilitarian 6" Steel Rule.

Up-Tight
Weld-on cement is an excellent product for installing bindings, purflings and end wedges. I looked for a long time and used many products from other suppliers with varied results. None of the claims the suppliers made were true. With other adhesives the bindings would fall off with a little heat, set to fast or set to slow. Some of them were very difficult to clean. They penetrated the wood and kept reflecting through the finish regardless of how much cleaning I did. Some of them expanded with each coat of sealer. Weld-on sets at a speed I can work with it. It cures so I can start cleaning within a few hours and sand flat and scrap a few hours after that. Thanks Stewmac for offering such a great product.
