Better than springs.
This works very well. Especially helpfull if you have stacked humbuckers in single coil sized holes. Springs are not always long enough for these taller pickups, but this can be cut to whatever length needed.

Excellent Crowning File
I've used the 300 grit for years. It's way smoother than a traditional crowning file making further polishing steps go that much quicker. The only option I would wish for would be different widths, it can be a little squarish on the tops of smaller frets. Otherwise a pleasure to use.

Finishing Oil
This is a really handy product. When I'm building a bass and apply this to the fretboard, it acts almost like Teflon. Not much will stick to it.
It also gives the fretboard a nice matte finish.
I'll be using this on all my future builds.

Free-Way Pickup Switch
This switch is GREAT! It should be standard equipment on ALL 3 pickup Gibsons. I put it in my Gibson Firebird VII. My buddy has the Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom that has this switch in it. I was hoping someday I'd be able to get one, and now I (you) can! Practically every combination available. It needed just a little routing under the pickguard to fit.

Where has craftsmanship flown?
The machining is Awful. The workmanship on this caul would have been given a D- in high school shop. The pads are glued on crooked. Haven't had occasion to use it yet but the quality does NOT justify the price. This was quickly thrown together and not inspected before being sent out. I will take off the pads and reglue them. This is the first time I have gotten junk from StewMac and have been very pleased with my previous purchases.

Eocef,
We're sorry to hear you had this negative experience with our Bridge Clamping Caul. After seeing your review, we thoroughly re-evaluated our stock. We only found a few units that had this problem and we removed them from inventory. Thank you for speaking up, and again, we apologize that we let you down this time.

A real time saver!
Instead of laboriously calculating the correct string spacing, and then very carefully etching the nut before cutting the slots, this rule does all that and remembers it for the next time. A simple colored dot with a Magic Marker saves the specific setting for the next time. Produces a perfect string spacing.

Playing prior to finish
The guitar that we built at Kent Everett's "The Art Of Guitar" construction class, in October of this year, was actually strung up using the Acoustic Bridge Bolts before the finish was applied. They secured the bridge to the top with ease and we were able to bring the guitar to pitch and play it! This is truly a great invention. They can also be used to secure the bridge in place during glue-up.

24" Sanding Disc
After just completing Kent Everett's "The Fine Art of Guitar" construction class, in October of this year, I realized how important it was to have the 50 grit sanding discs attached to my radius dishes. The time in radiusing the kerfing/sides, braces, bridge plate, bridge, etc. has been cut tremendously and the accuracy of the required area of the radius has been greatly improved.

Just what I was looking for!
I needed to replace the sliding 3way switch on one of my guitars (I dislike them immensely) and this switch from StewMac is much more substantial in terms of weight and construction, and far better looking than any of the others I found. There was also the added benefit of the cream knob which was supplied, which matched the color of my guitar's pickup bobbins nicely. A gorgeous and valuable product!

My custom alteration made a great usable clamp
I took my jigsaw to the bottom arm of a large clamp. I shaped it like their mini cam clamp with a deep contour on top, 1/4" off the bottom side and rounded front end so it would fit inside smaller parlor guitars I repair.

Replacement neck
I purchased one of your Rosewood fretboard strat necks because the neck on my strat was one of those crapy Fender Bi-flex necks that Fender used. After about 10 years of using the strat the neck (because of the crappy Bi-flex neck) was in bad shape and could not be re-fretted or fixed. So I bought your neck (which is really a mighty mite neck). The lady that took my order was great the neck was unbelievable and I will be buying another neck for my other strat which has the crappy Fender bi-flex neck.
The neck has made my strat play so much better and even sound so much better....thank you again

Fantastic Fret File
The 300 grit file arrived within days from StewMac. USA to Auckland, New Zealand in blistering time! I have recrowned 2 fret boards now and I'm very pleased with the result. This file is a serious item for the tool box. I got the fretwork book too. It has lots of handy hints and secrets. Great for a beginner like me. Thanks StewMac!

Xcellent Files
Finally! I have my own set of nut files for my basses. It's a small investment that pays a huge dividend, in terms of being able to do my own set up on my basses without needing to take them to a tech, or borrow some files. I was concerned that the string gauges weren't a perfect match, but they were close enough, and worked fine. I am very pleased with them. Stewmac was prompt in sending them to me. Happy!

Please stick to the plan
These are NOT 3/8" bushings. And how are you inserting a 3/8" bushing in a 5/16 hole?????
Styphy
Litlta, PA
StewMac responds
Styphy,
Allow us to clarify: 3/8" is the HEIGHT of the threaded portion. Its diameter is slightly smaller than the 5/16"-diameter we suggest for the mounting hole. Hope this helps and answers your question! Please contact us if you would like further assistance
