Waverly Ivoroid Bridge Pins

About This Item

Hand-turned, vintage style.
High quality, precisely machined with no mold lines.

All pins have a 5-degree taper. Slotted pins have a 0.070" (1.78mm) string slot. Oversized pins are thicker for worn bridge pin holes. Sold in packages of 6.

Jewelry for your guitarA vintage material is reborn
Our ivoroid bridge pins, endpins and strap buttons are made of Galalith, a dense and durable casein-based material that polishes beautifully. Popular in the early 20th century, Galalith is found today in collectible vintage jewelry. It cannot be molded; each pin is precisely machined and has none of the unsightly mold lines common to plastic pins.

Our ivoroid pins match our endpins and the knobs on Waverly guitar tuning machines.

Chopping the ends off bridge pins

If you're not careful, installing new strings can create a problem that throws you out of tune or damages your bridge pin holes. Elliot John-Conry of EJC Guitars shows us an easy fix.

Great bridge pins

High quality pins that look great. Much better than factory original pins.

Beautiful ivoroid pins to dress up any acoustic

These Waverly ivoroid pins are beautifully made, and a perfect fit for 5 degree slotted bridges. I use them both on my new builds, and some restoration/repair of old guitars.

A nice trick to help them blend in with an older/vintage guitar is a quick wipe with Colortone vintage amber and tobacco brown stains diluted with alcohol. An extra wipe with tobacco brown under the crown gives it some grit and grime - a little mojo to help them blend in on a well-worn guitar.

wait....don't fill those holes.....

Sure beats the fill and drill and they improve the tone on most guitars especially with abs pins.

Nice addition for looks/ tone

Although these pins were a bit oversized for my Yamaha, a slight mod on the bridge and they fit perfectly. They look great - and along with a few other mods made the high-end a bit clearer.

Nice pins for Gibson AJ

I put these on my recent (2011?) Gibson Advanced Jumbo. The tops are a little bigger than the original plastic pins (one of which had broken). The fit is great and I like the look despite the bigger tops. I'm not sure whether they improved the tone--new strings went along with the new pins, and the guitar is a tone machine to begin with--but they sure didn't hurt it any. Service from StewMac was excellent as always.

Very good quality bridge pins

I needed to replace the bridge pins in my 1977 Guild; the original plastic ones were worn and had started to fall apart, the ivory ones were not in stock so I ordered the ivoroid and they are quite nice, but maybe a touch oversized for the holes so they didn't set down as low as the originals. I don't think that'll it'll be a problem though and I'd probably order them again as they seem to do the job and look nice and sufficiently vintage.

Good product, excellent customer service!

I have ordered 4 sets of slotted pins with black dot, but received by mistake one of them without dots. All of these were together for a double neck guitar, it was important all to be same and I was close to deadline to finish the instrument. I wrote to the StewMac customer service and their reaction was brilliant! After 4 days I just received today a correct set of pins. Thank you guys, you really saved my schedule and inconveniences in front of the customer!

Beware of sizing

I bought two sets, one for my Gibson and one for my Martin. They are too fat. They don't fit either guitar. Will be returning them. Beautiful material and finish though.

An easy fix for a tough problem

By

Verified Buyer

I own an old Epiphone acoustic, great playing and great sounding guitar. Its one problem has been that the bridge pin holes were reamed out a little too wide. the last few string changes it has been very hard to keep the pins in as the normal diameter pins were bottoming out. Voila, $10 for extra wide bridge pins solves the problem with no pain.
An excellent trick to have in your book, a set of oversized bridge pins.
