Details

Durable • Reliable • Great price!
The best economy-priced iron we've found for guitar and amp soldering jobs.

It heats to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C), and at 40 watts, is a step above short-lived 15-30 watt megamart irons.

Features include:

  • Affordable price, exceptional quality
  • Durable stainless steel shank sleeve
  • Comfortable cushioned grip
  • Long-life non-corrosive 1/32" fine-point tip
  • 4-1/2 foot cord

We recommend:
  • Order a chisel tip for soldering connections to the back of a control pot or grounding a wire to a tremolo claw. It's also handy for steaming out wood dents with a damp cloth.
  • The adjustable Soldering Stand is a must-have for convenience and safety.
  • Use #0505 standard 60/40 rosin core solder with this iron. Lead-free solder is not recommended due to its high melting point (above 420¦F).

#0502 is a 110-volt AC electrical appliance, 60Hz. It has a U.S. standard Type A plug with two flat parallel prongs, ungrounded.

#0602 is a 220-volt AC electrical appliance, 50Hz. It has an international plug Type C (Europlug) with two round prongs, ungrounded.

Professional quality at a low price

This soldering iron's quality is worth more than the $15 I paid for it. Well balanced, lightweight and heats up very quickly. Replacing the tip is fast , easy and the tip remains firmly in place. This 40 watts soldering iron is a must have. I highly recommend it.

All you need to be a tinker

I used to burn up pots and hardware store irons. This iron is fast. I can do pickup covers and ground the back of pots simply now. Just remember to clean the tips , tin the tips for every connection and unplug between tasks. I will defiantly purchase another when this one bites it.

Don't wait to buy it!

It's a great soldering iron for any electronics project, guitar or otherwise. I own 5 other various types and was debating why I needed another iron. I finally added it to another purchase & it's the only iron I use. Note: I do prefer the optional Flat tip over the needle tip. I repaired my Hartke amp circuit board & rewired my Les Paul. Great Iron, get the extra flat tip too!

Great budget iron.

I have been building my own guitar and speaker cables. I needed a basic, no frills soldering iron. This is exactly what I was after.

The best yet. This is hands down the single best soldering iron I have found. I am still on the first tip after 2 guitar wiring jobs. Make sure to get solder here!

Solid value

Better quality than the local big box hardware store for only a few pennies more. Solidly constructed and thoughtfully padded in the right places. The cord is just long enough. Reaches temp quickly. I picked up a chisel tip to increase surface area for soldering on on the backs/sides of potentiometers. It was a good move and I suggest it. The pointy tip is fine for general wiring and soldering to lugs, etc. The chisel tip just made fixing braid to the back of pots faster (less time under the heat) and now I have a tip I can modify with a slot to heat up frets. I'll probably buy another of these soldering irons for just that purpose.

this is a good item. Right size etc. My only complaint is not having a on/off switch about a foot down the cord from the iron. After my 1st use, I cut the cord & wired a switch in place. Much better now.

Good soldering iron and not too expensive. A bit more powerful than I'm used to...
