"These wrenches are great! They stay in my travel pack. When I meet artists/customers on the road, I have to be prepared for anything. I recommend this set to any pro tech."
—Kelly Butler, Manager and Chief Luthier, First Act

SAVE on the set of 17. Here's what you get:

(3) Hex truss rod wrenches: 10-3/4" (27.31cm) length keeps your knuckles safely away from the peghead. Comfortable rubberized handle. For 5/16" (Gibson), 9/32" and 1/4" hex nuts.
Hex wrenches are also sold separately.

(5) Allen truss rod wrenches: 12-1/2" (31.75cm) length gives plenty of peghead clearance. The Allen ball end also works at an angle, for getting into a recessed truss rod access cavity. Comfortable rubberized handle. For 1/8", 4mm, 3/16" and 5mm Allen nuts. Plus a 1/8" bent wrench for tuner clearance on 6-in-line pegheads.
Allen wrenches are also sold separately.

(5) Soundhole truss rod wrenches: Right-angle tools for easily adjusting an acoustic guitar neck through the soundhole. Comfortable rubberized handles. The Allen ball end lets you tilt the wrench for clearance over the top bracing when needed. The 4mm wrenches are for Hot Rod truss rods. Two 5mm wrenches adjust Martin guitars: the 2" (50.80mm) reach for pre-August 2007 Martins, and 4-1/2" (114.30mm) reach for Martins made after that date.
Soundhole wrenches are also sold separately.

Truss rod wrench for Fender: The 3/8"-wide (9.52mm) flat blade has the right taper and size to adjust a traditional Fender truss rod efficiently, without marring the nut. 10-3/4" long (27.31cm), with comfortable rubberized handle.
Fender wrench is also sold separately.

(3) Pocket truss rod wrenches: Compact tools with a 1-1/8" (28.58mm) "bullet" socket that fits into a recessed truss rod access cavity. For 5/16" (Gibson), 9/32" and 1/4" hex nuts.
Pocket wrenches are also sold separately.

Great set

Being a commercial industrial refrigeration mechanic for a day job. Sets are always hard to accommodate all users, it takes time to perfect a set. Sylvan has a point I too had a PRS come across my bench and was at a loss when I did not have the right tool. However these things will happen in all walks of life and trades. This is a very good set of truss rod wrenches and I am a firm believer in "You get what you pay for" The amount of money I have in refrigeration tools is staggering to a lot of the prices I've seen in StewMac. Keep up the great work stewmac and I will be watching your site for that elusive PRS wrench. :D

Good but incomplete

The set as purchased is very nice. However, it does not include a wrench for any American made PRS guitar. For a set billed as a complete truss rod set, the omission of one of the very popular guitars in our culture is inexcusable.

Truss rod wrenches

I've not still used the wrenches ,but the only remark is that the dimensions of the tips of the keys are too thinly engraved, so I've written them with a felt-pen on the handle and it does! Without that, very good tools.

The right tool for the job.

This kit provides the right tools for the job. The hex wrenches and pocket wrenches in particular are the right diameter and profile for tricky truss rod holes.

A good set of wrenches.

These are a pretty comprehensive - I didn't think that I would have a great deal of use for the whole set but I have only had them a month and already used five of them on customer's jobs. I must say that the 'pocket hex wrenches' (small chrome pipe like ones) are not that great. I was working on a deep recessed truss rod on a seven string Ibanez K7 and managed to get the tool into the pocket and on the nut but could not get it out - eventually the handle pulled free of the socket and I was a bit stranded. It would be useful if the handles on these were welded rather than a push fit into the hole. But overall really worth having.

Truss Rod Wrench Set

I bought my first set of these wrenches 5 years ago for my home shop. I bought the second set for my guitar repair business. I have large hands and love the handles on these wrenches. They are a must for any professional guitar tech or Luthier. Stew-Mac is my first choice for tools, jigs, finishing supplies and just about anything else I need to do a great job on my customers' guitars.

Absolute must have tools

I like the whole set. What we need, ball end Allen wrenches with long and twisted handles! These make adjusting necks a snap if you turn them too far!

Pricey, but useful

I use them every time I set up a guitar. The quality of the construction is great! I believe the screwdriver-style handles provide a great grip, yet also limits you from over-tightening a truss-rod, like you could with a T-Handle.

I do wish it have a few more sizes to cover all the different guitars that come across my bench.

Works great but need more sizes

These work great for about 20% of the guitars we repair. I would just like to see a much bigger selection to accommodate name brands other than fender and gibson wich these seem to work for the most. - Matt Dreher

These are the way to go! I don't need to worry about stripping a truss rod bolt or marking the guitar. They fit well and do the job well.
