Solved My Les Paul Tuning Problems

By

I was about to put this guitar in the closet because the D and G would not stay in tune. I was going to get a set of nut files but was encouraged to try this first. I'm glad I did.

Difficult to smooth sides

By
(Customer's Reviews)

This product works well enough to smooth the bottom of whatever task is at hand but it is difficult to smooth the sides of any slot. A far better solution is to wrap a nut file or similar with the 3M Polishing Papers. The polishing papers are available in a greater range of graduations and are available in finer grits, too.

The ideal way to avoid 'nut pinging' polish your slots with these gauged abrasives - perfect - used in all my books.

I couldn't find this or similar product here in Finland and can't figure out why. This is neat, clean, precise and long lasting product. I use it for everything I can fit it into. Highly recommended for everyone from guitar setups to anykind of woodworker

GREAT OPTION

I used this cord for the saddles and the nut on both Fender and Gibson models. A great option if you don't have special files.

Excellent, clean and easy to use

I use 11-49 gauge on all my guitars and always tend to have some problems with strings sticking in the nut slots however careful I try to be with lubrication. On my Music Man Luke II, the low E string was raised off the bottom of the slot, which was evidently made for skinnier bass strings. I used Mitchell's cord back and forth and now the string sits correctly in the slot, making it much nicer to play as well as helping with obvious tuning problems. Very good product. Protect your headstock as it has no mercy on wood either. I got away with the slightest of little nicks. However, great product and very useful for this and other things linked to guitars etc.

Outstanding!

Makes life a lot easier and takes the frustration out of smoothing slots. Can't imagine how anyone would break these, they are like any abrasive type tool, let it do the work for you and don't force it.

Works great

When using their nut files for the smaller strings I kept getting a ping sound from a burr I just couldn't get rid of in the nut. This abrasive cord does an excellent job of cleaning out the slots. Highly recommended when slotting a bridge too.

Fantastic!

Really great item, smooths out nut and saddle slots, with little to no pressure, so the strings can ride over the surface smoothly. Follow with some guitar grease to eliminate those pesky tuning hiccups
