Peghole Reamers

Unlike hardware store reamers, these professional luthier's reamers are semi-fluted to help keep the hole round. They're made of quality hollow-ground high speed steel with durable wooden handles.

Two sizes are available, with the correct 2-degree taper for accurately fitting pegs in violins, violas, guitars, cellos and other stringed instruments.

Standard reamer tapers from .200" (5.08mm) to .375" (9.52mm), with 5.63" (143mm) cutting length. For full-size violins, violas and flamenco guitars. Also for banjos and dulcimers with wooden tuning pegs.

Large reamer tapers from .312" (7.92mm) to .625" (15.88mm), with 7.88" (200.15mm) cutting length. For guitars and cellos.

TIP: Bridge Pin Hole Reamers are available for fitting guitar bridge pins and endpins accurately.

The Best Cello Peg Reamer

By
(Customer's Reviews)

For me, this tool was very expensive and l've debated purchasing it for some time. I read all the reviews and decided to go for it. The tool is just beautifully made. I have never used a better peg reamer. And yes the handle is not equal to the reamer, but I have made a new ebony handle and the tool is now as beautiful as it is functional.

Excellent.

I bought this item along with the peg shaver and the two match perfectly. It was my first time using either piece of equipment and it couldn't have been easier. A little on the expensive side but good value for money if you plan to use it on a few instruments.

The Price of Perfection

By

Other reviewers are spot on. This reamer is a fine precision tool. Works flawlessly. The price leaves me feeling a little reamed as well, but hey, I'll give Stew Mac the benefit of the doubt and say I guess you "get what you pay for". Good tool - good vendor.
