Conductive Shielding Paint

About This Item

Reduces hum, noise and radio interference.
The fastest and easiest way to shield pickup and control cavities. Perfect for tight spots.

When connected to electrical ground, the shielded surfaces help reduce noise, hum and radio interference. It cleans up with water while still wet, and dries overnight.

Brush on two or more coats of this waterbase dark gray conductive paint for best results (let dry between coats). Conductive shielding paint is supplied in a 1/2-pint can, sufficient for shielding several electric guitars, and in a money-saving 1-pint can. We recommend our conductive tape for best results when shielding smooth plastic pickguards.

Nothing but

It takes WEEKS to lacquer a guitar - You can see & hear the difference, so its worth the effort IMO. With that much work to ensure how the instrument looks, why would I use something that affects the sound? (re: mysterious buzzing w/ plates, foils, etc). This stuff's expensive but 3 coats of this def does the job - nice & neat. Like hot sauce, I put this stuff on everything ~

This stuff works great for most applications if you have the time to wait three days for dry time.

This paint is quite conductive once you have 2-3 layers down, and is easy to apply, with water cleanup. My guitar is now as hum-free as outer space!

I have a 72 Deuxe that was a little noisy opened it up and found no shielding whatsoever. Coated the inside with 3 coats of the Stew-Mac shielding paint and used the Stew-Mac shielding foil on the back of the pick guard, the noise is gone! Great product I highly recommend it. One other little tip. Dont shake the can that will make the paint foamy, use a stir stick.

This product is easy to apply and is absolutely does conduct electricity. Instructions recommend 24 hours between coats, but you can dry it with a hair dryer if you need to speed up your down time. Enough to do several instruments.

Good Product

Paint arrived at my door in Australia within the stated 4 weeks delivery period in excellent condition and without any customs issues.
Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong.
While it's not as conductive as copper, I think it's good enough and in my opinion it looks better.
It's also very easy to apply and the results are consistent.
The people here at Stew-mac are also very easy to deal with and the service is second to none.

This stuff is awesome. It goes on smooth and fast and made my bass so quiet. I mean it was quiet before but now you cant even tell if its plugged in at high volume. Love it I'm gonna do all my guitars and future guitars this way. Way too easy.

Customers are worth the extra mile.

My latest custom was something that I wanted to spare no expense on. I told the customer that I was going to paint the shielding on for him and that it would look real tidy. Every cavity was done and with the pain, it was so much quicker and easier to do. And it does look a whole lot tidier. This is a great product SM. I got it through my supplier here in Australia. Costs a fair bit. But I recon I will get some mileage out of this tin. Let's face it. Customers are worth the extra mile. Thanks Stewart Mac'.
