I wasn't sure how i'd like the golden age pickups in this but I needed to replace the guts in my guitar. These pickups have a nice warm tone with just enough bite.

Excellent value for when you've just given up

I messed around trying to wire my pos strat myself. First to fix a grounding issue, then to fix my fix of a grounding issue. Eventually I wasn't getting any sound out of it. I bought this kit just to start over and it works perfectly. I heard it was the best "value" pickguard assembly, and it seems to be living up to the hype. The pickups are at least as good (actually sound a little better) as the pups previously installed on my craigslist nee pawn shop hard-worn affinity strat.

It's a working man's solution, but it's a working man's price. So I can't fault it for anything.

Great product for the money

I bought this to replace a pickguard the come on a used guitar. The sound of the pickups on this pickguard is great for the money, but I was a little disappointed to find that there were no screws sent with the pickguard, glad I didn't throw away the old ones.

Stratocaster original pickups

I bought this to put on my Mexican Strat. The humbuckers that came on my guitar were just too heavy sounding for what I wanted. I took my time and did a complete setup as if it were new. The only complaint I have is the edges where it was roughted were rough. I sanded them and they look good now. The only other thing and I think this is a problem with other people too is the holes didn’t line up with the originals. Not a real problem and I just redrilled them on the guitar to match. As far as sound it was exactly what I wanted. I can’t even hear any discernible hum or noise when playing or just sitting. All and all it was a great project and well worth the cost.

I think this Stew-Mac pre-wired pickguard assembly is the best "budget" pre-wired pickguard assembly you can get online, bar none. JMHO :)

i semi restored this 95 squier, the pups sound great, especially in position 2 and 4.
The pickguard dropped right in, i only had to re drill 4 out of 11 holes, witch was covered by the guard, no exposed holes, and is probly due to its age.

Excellent value - performs well

I bought this to fix a Squier mini strat. The way to do this was to remove the parts from the full size pick guard and re-install on the smaller one after creating a place for the second tone control. It was really easy and the resulting guitar is excellent. The previous electrics had been water damaged and I did not trust them at all. I think I may be to line the cut outs with silver foil and check the electrics since there are some tiny issues, BUT I am thrilled. BTW the shipping time and cost was perfect.

Good value for a beginner like myself.

Bought this for a strat copy made by Samick that was gifted to me that had a bad volume know. I am a beginner player so didn't need anything fancy and was reluctant to buy the cheap variety found in other places. All the sauter joints and wiring is neat. 2 wire installation was easy but mounting was a little harder as it didn't fit my guitar exactly so need the upper right hand neck pocket bit cut. The screws didn't all line up either so had to drill new holes. Only bad part about it was the pickguard edges still show mill marks so does not look as neat and finished as what came on my guitar. Since I have only ever played 1 guitar I cannot comment on sound quality but I think it sounds pretty good and much better than what was replaced .
