About This Item

Realistic sound without a pickup! Endorsed by Ricky Skaggs.

An innovative bridge plate microphone with endpin preamp and volume control, for realistic acoustic guitar sound without a pickup. The Lyric™ features uniform tonal response, high gain and excellent feedback resistance. Endorsed by Ricky Skaggs.

The featherweight L.R. Baggs Tru-Mic is designed to adhere to the bridge plate in an X-braced guitar. It's suspended just 3mm from the surface, so it can respond to the entire soundboard with high gain and feedback resistance. Innovative patent-pending noise cancelling technology provides clear, clean sound, and the all-discrete preamp/endpin jack tightens the low frequencies for punch with natural dynamics. The convenient fingertip soundhole volume control features adjustable presence, that customizes high frequency response specifically for your guitar.

The mic and volume control are self-adhesive. A no-drill mesh battery bag is included. 9-volt battery required.

Lyric mic pickup install in OM guitar

Verified Buyer

After completing my first guitar build (refer to photos) I decided to install the 'Lyric' pickup in this guitar. It was easy to install and it has a natural sound that is excellent.

However, their is a slight 'SHH' noise when you rotate the volume control. I will be purchasing another 'Lyric' pickup when I complete my next acoustic guitar.

Here again another fine product from Stewart MacDonald.

Great when you can't fit an under-saddle pickup

Verified Buyer

I like the Lyric pickup and have fitted quite a few of these now. They're especially good for installations where an under-saddle pickup is either not practical or inappropriate.

The Gibson J-45 ADJ from the '60s with the adjustable ceramic saddle is a good example where the Lyric is the best option. Also, the Martins with the cut-through style saddle.

I have experimented placing the mic both in front of the bridge pin holes and behind. My feeling is that fitting it behind the pin holes on the bridge plate gives the warmest sound with the least feedback problem.
