This popular transducer is designed for installation at the bottom of a 3/32" (2.38mm) wide bridge saddle (saddle not included).

Martin installed this model for several years on their amplified 6-string guitars. This pickup is designed for string spreads up to 2-1/8" (53.97mm).

Includes the Fishman Switchjack: a stereo jack that can be used for mono, stereo, or mono with battery switching capabilities. Like all passive transducers, this pickup does not require a battery. The Switchjack™ tightens from outside the guitar, and accepts a standard 1/4" (6.35mm) plug. 1/2" (12.70mm) diameter mounting hole required. An impedance-matching preamp is recommended, but not required.

Dreadnought experiment

By Geoff Stearns from Springfield, Oregon

I installed this pickup in my StewMac Dreadnought kit as an experiment, and am surprised and delighted at the result. I am using the Schatter mini-preamp for impedance matching into a Fender Mustang II and find that there is plenty of signal and very low, almost imperceptible, noise. There is good balance across all strings. Despite on-line warnings and cautions, I found installation to be very straightforward just following the Fishman directions. Great fun to play!

not so great

I have built about 40 guitars, and have installed a dozen or so pickups in acoustic guitars. This product is very flimsy and subject to damage on install. I have never been able to get decent balance across all six strings with it. The continuous ribbon type from BBand has worked a lot better for me . Wish stewmac carried them.

Fishman Thinline

Installed the thinline under saddle in the adjustable bridge of my archtop. I made a new saddle of pau ferro, routed it for an 1/8th" slip-fit saddle. I was completely happy with the result. Stan Tucker

Installation of this piece was actually easier than instructions said; normal care and accurate placement resulted in terrific sound and balance, especially when connected to the Fishman G II preamp.

I have installed several of these Fishman Thinlines for customers of mine who want a lot of pickup without breaking the bank. All of them were pleased with the result and loved the way it sounds. They are easy to install and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good passive pickup.
