Pickup Kit for Tele Bridge

About This Item

Build your own pickups from the ground up: go for the vintage sound or wind it your own way for custom tone!

Choose Alnico 5 or Alnico 2 magnets:
Alnico 2 magnets give a warmer tone and low end response with smooth, singing highs. Many builders use them in the bridge pickups of solidbodies.
Alnico 5 produces a brighter tone with a tighter low end and stinging highs. They're great for neck position pickups, to help keep the tone clear without getting muddy.

Pickup Kit for Tele Bridge includes
  • Black fiber bobbin flatwork
  • Brass eyelets
  • Polepieces ready to magnetize (instructions included, Alnico 2 magnets are marked red on one end to tell them apart from Alnico 5's)
  • Coil-wrap string
  • Copper-plated steel baseplate
  • Black and white push-back wire
  • Mounting screws
  • Compressible tubing for height adjustment
Polepiece spacing 2.165" (54.99mm)

I'm a still a novice at winding. The Stewmac kits offer a lot of quality and support for the buck. Happy with my results so far.

Made an AP11 into a Tele bridge PUP

(Customer's Reviews)

I found this kit and finally purchased it after procrastinating for about 3 months. I needed the bottom plates for 2 Tele pups I have and the bottom bobbin piece and plate for a project. I wanted to make a Tele bridge pup out of a Carvin AP11 pup. I did this by taking the bottom bobbin piece off, cutting the center magnet holes out to make a slot, then super gluing the Tele bobbin piece on. I then potted the bottom of the pup and while the wax was still hot stuck the plate on. The end result is an excellent sounding pup and a great match at the neck of my Tele. Great parts, highly recommended.
