Perfect for the job!

By

I wanted to make a Strat style pick up to go with a Yamaha SG 2000 neck p-u I was given many years back. The flatwork was right for the job although the Vox magnets were a little loose and fitting them was like herding cats, they kept jumping out and cuddling up to each other! Solution:a bar magnet from a Jap p-u underneath held them long enough to get it all together. The spun in a cordless drill for the wind and overwound to about 7.5K to match the Yamaha. Not potted yet, that challenge is yet to come! This is the first winding job I've done in many years and much more successful than past efforts thanks to the flatwork and useful advice in Dan's guitar repair book.

Nicely executed precise flatwork

I rarely use any other flatwork than these for Strat pickups. Consistent dimensions and quality. No sticky edges like laser cut flatwork.
