Now you can build your own guitar pickups from the ground up: go for the vintage sound or wind it your own way for custom tone!

Choose Alnico 5 or Alnico 2 magnets:
Alnico 2 magnets give a warmer tone and low end response with smooth, singing highs. Many builders use them in the bridge pickups of solidbodies.
Alnico 5 produces a brighter tone with a tighter low end and stinging highs. They're great for neck position pickups, to help keep the tone clear without getting muddy.

Pickup Kit for Tele Neck includes

  • Black fiber bobbin flatwork
  • Brass eyelets
  • Polepieces ready to magnetize (instructions included, Alnico 2 magnets are marked red on one end to tell them apart from Alnico 5's)
  • Black and white push-back wire
  • Mounting screws
  • Compressible tubing for height adjustment

Polepiece spacing 1.975" (50.17mm)
Pole to pole
(measured on centers)
0.395" (10.03mm)

Matching Tele Rhythm Pickup Cover is available.

great sounding, easy to work with kit. Loved the result but i think it would be cheaper considering that the cover it's not included

Still love those kits. I purchased almost every single one of them. But why starting to sell cover and pickup separately?

This is a great pickup kit. It's a bit difficult to put the magnets in the holes, but once you get in right it's really solid. Built a Tele neck pickup with plain enamel wire... Great sound, and this is only the second pickup I build!

This is a good kit and makes a nice sounding pickup, but the cover (brass) is a little cheap; a nickel silver cover would be better quality.

I don't think I could do better than stewmac has already done creating these accurate kits.

Absolutely awesome. Customers love these pickups, but it is hard to see how you could go wrong.
