CTS Push-pull Pots, DPDT

About This Item

Add a switch without adding a hole. Sized to fit more guitars.
On these top quality CTS control pots, the switch contacts are on the side, not the back. This makes them shorter, so they'll fit most guitars without routing—only 1" cavity depth is needed.

The double-pole double-throw switch adds lots of wiring options. Pull the knob to coil-cut a humbucker, switch a pickup in/out, or control anything: the switch is electrically separate from the control pot.

CTS pots have long been the first choice in American guitars. CTS worked with StewMac to create these unique control pots. In addition to their space-saving size, they feature a longer-life brass shaft and tighter ±10% resistance tolerance compared to CTS products offered elsewhere.

Their precision audio taper gives smoother, more accurate response than you'll get with economy pots. The volume swells evenly from 0 to 10, with no abrupt changes.

Available with split shaft for fine-knurled (24-spline) knob, or with smooth shaft to fit a set-screw knob. The long shaft #0229 fits Les Paul® and other carved-top solidbodies.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, lock washer, and two hex mounting nuts for custom height adjustment on a pickguard or control plate.

Which pot value should you choose?
500K pots are standard controls for humbuckers, and 250Ks are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250K gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K, and bleeds off (attenuates) some of the high frequencies to ground.

Replacement Mounting Nuts and Lock Washers are also available.

Compared to regular push pull pots

Bought to fit better into my sgj.... still had to router out some wood to deepen the pocket. They aren't much shorter than regular push pulls. Other than that they seem to work awesome, they feel very solid.

Installed in PRS Tremonti tone pots, neck and bridge humbucker splitting. Also used 830k resistor to reduce to 300 load pot. Perfection, customer was blown away at new present tone.

Very Happy

Rewired a 1976 Telecaster and very happy with with the results. Put in new pots, new caps and a four way switch to series the neck and bridge pickups in position four. I also lined the cavities and back of the pick guard with copper foil. It sounds great. Searched the internet for better prices for all components and couldn't find better prices.

Nice quality

Overall very satisfied with the pots. Shaft movement is smooth, no noise produced while turning, switch action is also solid. Minimal free movement of the shaft. Giving 4 because soldering is quite challenging, solder points of the switch are tiny. also would be nice to have some dedicated contact point for grounding the chassis. Overall I'm satisfied, not sure if there's any better pot on the market. Although this one can be improved.

Great pot!

Great pot once I figured out how to wire it. Would have been nice to have some wiring instructions or demo video. I used it on telecaster with 4-ways switch w/phase reverse on "pull" position,. Works like a charm. No noise. Nice taper.
