If you do any pick guard free-hand work, Stew-Mac's blank material is a bargain of the highest order no matter what holes you plan to cover (me).

I got this for a strat type guitar I'm building. Installed the pickups through the back of the body. this works well to fab a cover plate for the pickups.

This pick guard was just the thing for a project I was working on. They got it to me quickly and the price didn't sting too bad. Would buy from StewMac again.

This pickguard blank makes great control cavity covers and truss rod covers. The thickest sheet is the one you want trust me.

good quality esay to work with

I got hold of a GW Lyon strat type guitar (Washburn) made in 2006. A low end guitar i decided to MOD it. The original pick guard is proprietary so i either had to live with it (all scratched up) or make one as a basic strat guard wont fit. As with all projects I need help with I turned to SM. This plastic is very easy to work with, make sure you mark/cut from the back. It will take me a few weeks to finish it and several sheets of 220 wet/dry and my dremel. One things for certain, I dont think I will do this again, its very tedious work.

Good stuff. Easy to cut and shape. Get the thick one for control covers.

Worked perfect

I followed other reviewer's advice & got the .083. It worked perfect. Cut in rough shape with tin snips then shaped down to precise fit on my grinding wheel. Finished with a fine sanding on edge. Saved a bunch. An ebay seller wanted about $90 to do what took me about an hour.

There Is Black And Then There Is Black

This material does machine well and of course the thickness is as specified. It is very high gloss. I used it for a cav cover on a BLACK guitar and it looks more like a dark charcoal gray. It looks black as black can be when held against white but when held against black it sticks out like a beginning guitarist pinky finger learning to play scales.

Right price for something we all use

It's cuts easy, it routs easy, it sands easy. My favorite thing is that it bends easy. After a short time under a heat gun it can very easily be formed into a curve for acoustics with preamps or output jacks that have had their housing broken.
