Size changed from 7/16 to 12mm wide

I have always liked these truss rods, and installed several of them. I got my newest two today, and they have changed the width from 7/16 to 12 mm. I just had to order a new router bit to make this work, and will have to retool my neck jig.
Very unlike the StewMac Ive come to like so much!

Light and strong

I've found that a single action rod is all I need. These rods bend in the right place, and the construction gives plenty of confidence.

Perfect replacement!

By

This is my first attempt at replacing a truss rod. So far so good, the new one is a perfect fit in my old Montaya acoustic. Followed the included instructions for a smooth installation.

Very strong, lightweight, responsive.

This has become one of my favorite truss rod systems. Routing a straight channel is much easier, installation is quick and easy. The weight of the unit is comparable to the weight of the removed wood- no adverse effects on the tone, great precision of adjustment, once installed- even on antique "problem" necks. Recommended.

What Happened?

By

Verified Buyer

I bought several of these only to find that they are too wide to fir the 7/16" slot that I have been using for 20 years. They are in fact, wider than the Gotoh and Martin truss rods. The catalog picture does not show the actual product I received and the description doesn't mention the required slot width. All of my neck and headpiece fixtures rely on a 7/16" slot for registration, making these rods unusable. Too bad, they're good rods.

Does the job

Good truss rod for the price, but not as good as the stew Mac double action. A bit bulky, but does the job.
