All is good to speak of, need to make sure that the alen part is threaded very tightly, when making finial adjustment it come detached from truss rod...other wise works great!

What Happened?

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I bought several of these only to find that they are too wide to fir the 7/16" slot that I have been using for 20 years. They are in fact, wider than the Gotoh and Martin truss rods. The catalog picture does not show the actual product I received and the description doesn't mention the required slot width. All of my neck and headpiece fixtures rely on a 7/16" slot for registration, making these rods unusable. Too bad, they're good rods.

Does the job

Good truss rod for the price, but not as good as the stew Mac double action. A bit bulky, but does the job.

HEY... hows come these changed?

By
(Customer's Reviews)

These have always been great truss rods and I use them often... especially when speed is of the essence.
Unfortunately, the latest batch are slightly over sized (just a little wider aluminum channel material.
Now this isn't exactly a big deal but I already made the truss rod slots for three necks based on one of the older styles I had in the shop.
I'm going to run one through the thickness sander and see if I can slim it down a little. If it doesn't work I'm only out 12 bucks. Keep in mind if you bought a router bit for the old dimension rod it isn't going to work.
Of course, I should have known better than to route for the truss rod before I had the actual rod I was going to use. hahaha

I'll go back to using the hot-rod

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I was trying to find a cheaper replacement for the hot-rod I used on my last guitar, so I tried this. It's a good product but gluing with epoxy is tricky. Don't put too much especially near the nut - it can render the trussrod useless. Don't use too much glue. I also find it a bit hard to adjust and the groove is quite big (wide) compared to the hot-rod. I am afraid it can make the neck a little weak in the nut area. On the other hand it seems to add rigidity to the neck which is good.
