Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Pads

About This Item

Extra-gentle hand polishing for high-gloss finishes. Each pad features Micro-Mesh® resilient abrasive on both sides of a foam center. The cushioning allows gentle polishing of finished surfaces to a mirror gloss.

The set of nine pads includes #1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grits. Use the grits in sequence to achieve a super gloss.

Micro-Mesh features tiny abrasive crystals on resilient cloth-backed latex. These gentle "cushioned" particles generate less heat and friction than ordinary finishing papers, don't load up as quickly, and last up to 15 times longer.

Use Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Pads with a little soapy water as a lubricant to produce a scratch-free mirror shine (avoiding soaking the pads in water when not in use). We use these regularly in our own shops for finish touch-ups and repairing scratches on pickguards. Use them on for polishing frets, too.

Great for fret work and for finish repair

Very versatile. I use them for fret polishing and for scratch repair on guitar finished. I bought my first set a few years ago. Just bought another set. Instead of bending them I cut one set into strips for fre polishing and for thin and tight areas on the guitar.

Works well

I was impressed with these pads. I let them soak in water for a bit but only while I used them. I've seen other reviews saying they wear quickly but in my first project they held up great. I sanded up to 12,000 and then used fine polish and it turned out really well.

I have been using these for about a year now and have been very pleased. They last a long time, I have used them wet and dry and have received excellent results. I have a small set as well as the larger sized set.

I bought these to polish the fretboard of a Les Paul & it turned out beautifully. I used the 3 finest pads and I was done in a hour. I can't recommend these micro sanding pads more. As usual it was an extremely fast ship. Thank you!

Best thing to buff out scratches & smooth finish to relaquer

By

If you have nicks and smalll scratched in the finish of your guitar then forget all of those creams, compounds, etc. none of them work. If you really want to remove those things then get these pads, use a little elbow grease and get the pad wet with some soap. I even used them in a guitar where I completely stripped the finish to a natural color with sandpaper but needed something to make it really smooth before I applied laquer. It may take some time but eventually you will get it smooth enough to apply laquer.
