Color-matching Cream Parts and Bindings
There have always been slight variations in the color of the cream plastic parts used on Gibson and other guitars. It's not uncommon to see brand new and vintage guitars with bindings, pickup rings, toggle switch rings and pickguards that don't perfectly match in color. We do our best to match all our cream products, but there's no absolute control from batch to batch, or from supplier to supplier.

Good stuff

This material looks good and does the job. Just wish I had more knowledge on the best way to cut it as I wrecked the first attempt when routing the shape. Slow speed stops melting!

Excellent fast service from the USA. Arrived extemely well packed. Very pleased with the service. Can now finish my project of restoring a 1980 Washburn Raven.

Cream Of Manilla Envelope

I chose this color pickguard material to cover a Fender Lead II body that I stained a Root Beer color. The material is the ideal thickness for pickguards. For my purposes the color works wonderfully as it probably would with any other "darker" color. With lighter colors you may want to go with a lighter shade of Cream.

Cream Pick Guard Material

Wonderful Stuff! EXACTLY the same plastic used on my Epiphone or near enough that the difference is negligible.

I wish only that Stew-Mac had the cover plates or templates for Epiphones.

"Cream" pickguard material

By Karl from Canada
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, January 05, 2011

This material was the right thickness; had a peel-off layer to protect the surface; and was well packaged. Unfortunately, the color was WAY too red/orange--certainly not the "cream" color I was expecting. It doesn't match the "cream" knobs & pickup brackets on my Les Paul guitar (or any other similar guitars I've seen).

flexible and easy to work with

By Adam B from Montreal, QC, Canada

I loved the sheer flexibility and ease of use of this material. I used a jigsaw with a skinny blade, and this let me go any which way without breaking. I "beveled" the edges with my mouse sander, and it looked great, no scratches to speak of. No complaints on the color either

Too much yellow

By Evan C from Salt Lake City, UT
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, September 02, 2010

I purchased this to put on an electric to match the cream pickup covers. There is too much yellow in this for my taste and it did not match the cream pickup covers. I ended up just going black on everything.
