Self-lubricating nuts from Graph Tech are ideal for string bending and tremolo work. Now in more sizes!

Tusq XL: Tone, Vintage Good Looks, Permanent Lubrication
Extra slippery: TUSQ XL® is impregnated with Teflon® (500% more slippery than graphite). During tremolo bends, the strings slide in the slots, returning to accurate pitch.

Dense and resonant: Pressure-formed TUSQ transfers string energy more efficiently, without dead spots found in natural materials. Guitars come alive with enhanced harmonics, volume and sustain.

Pre-shaped: Slotted or unslotted, they require only minor trimming.

Ivory color now available
Customers have asked for a white version of their favorite Black TUSQ XL. That turned out to be easier said than done, and took years to perfect, but now it's here! It looks like ivory, but won't chip or flake.

Very Happy with the Tusq nut. Easy to work with. Plays great. Doesn't bind with the tremolo

TUSQ XL for Gibson LP Studio

By Nate SLC from Salt Lake City, UT.
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, December 25, 2013

I have an Alpine White Les Paul Studio that would not stay in tune and never felt quite right. I had tried a nut lubricant and it helped with the tuning stability but didn't really fix the problem. This fixed the problem! That guitar stays in tune and I was able to finally get a proper set up which makes it play like I had always imagined it would. This was my first time replacing a nut and now that I have done it I will never hesitate doing it again with other guitars. Excellent product!

Easy Install and Perfect Cut Nuts!

Installed these on my Import Strat ESP LTD ST guitar. Slight sanding is needed. Very easy to install if you follow the instruction. Instant tuning improvement is noticed. No more need to lubricate the nut. Tusq XL rocks! Would like to see stewmac stock Tusq XL for PRS SE model guitars too.

Great Lubricated Nut

By Brian B. from Hampton, VA

A must for any electric guitar that has a vibrato arm. When I use the vibrato, the strings go right back into tune when the arm is released. The stock nut didn't work that way.

Works great for a trem guitar

By T Jones from Chester, MT

Tried one in a build and worked great then put one in another strat with a wilkinson trem that is super silky and not binding what so ever.... Excellent for trem guitars...

Great guitar nuts!!

I grew up using real ivory nuts and bleached bone. On my newer guitars, I use Tusq XL nuts for my electric guitars with tremolos but also on some of my acoustics with locking tuners. The nuts and locking tuners help to keep the guitars in tune throughout a performance. Tusq was the first company I found which produced, what I think are the best and most consistent sounding synthetic nuts. When they came out with the lubricated nuts, I was overjoyed! Thanks TUSQ!

Love Tusq

I know unbleached bone is slightly better than tusq, but the quality and cosistancy is worth it. Theres nothing worse than putting a half hour into working bone just find a soft spot and you have to start all over.

Awesome! A breeze to install!

I originaly went with a bone nut for my strat and eventually messed it up. So I watched a couple videos and decided to go with these TUSQ nut. Needless to say, after 45 min. it was installed and ready to play! The color even matches the cream and shoreline gold! I'll more than likely use these from now on.

Nut working great

By Matt S. from Desoto, Tx
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, July 12, 2012

Have never replaced a nut on my own before. In the past have used luthiers. This was a garage sale FENDER/SQUIER strat a friend gave me. Sanded this Tusq nut down a bit so it would fit. I basically eye-balled it against another strat or tele for height. sanded a bit, checked fit and repeated a few times to get a snug fit. Also took some overlap off the ends. I have noticed this Tusq-teflon nut really does work as far preventing string binding at the nut. Plan on buying more... very pleased.
