Perfect

By Phil McArdle from Coventry CT
(Customer's Reviews) Wednesday, May 21, 2014

A perfect fit replacement, exactly as ordered. For some reason, sounds better amplified than the stock saddle in a Luna Dragonfly. It shouldn't but it does; maybe the bottom makes better contact with the under-saddle pickup.

Tusq Compensated Saddle

By Gerald E Lynch from Newport,NH

After removing the under saddle pick up I needed a new saddle so I chose the Tusq Compensated 1880. It was an easy install that took less than an hour. A very nice upgrade.

Did the job.

I needed to replace the bridge saddle on an Epiphone Zenith Bass as I'd taken too much off the original. I had to do some sanding to match the slot profile but it was an easy job. A perfectly flat base is required to sit flush against the pickup "wire" so as to avoid dead strings. This was easy to do with this material. Also the 14" radius matched the fret board perfectly. I'm now getting an even string volume and it sounds great.

I restored an old Harmony 1260 using a Tusq saddle, and it really made the guitar come alive. Very well made, easy to file, and there was a noticeable improvement in tone and sustain. The compensated design helped correct intonation problems. The intonation is now spot on.

TUSQ Saddle for acoustic guitar

By Pegzhead from Burlington, Ontario

The saddle was exactly what I needed. Quality seems spot on but a challenge to file- fits better than the original. Thanks for the on-line advice from the Stew-Mac staff.

Great saddle material

By JHW from Lexington, KY
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, April 19, 2012

I have an old Silvertone 619 archtop guitar I am restoring. It had an old nonstock wooden bridge that was in poor condition and I replaced it with a Foley archtop bridge with a bone saddle. I know bone is accepted as the absolutely best material for a saddle but the tone sounded dull to me. I replaced the bone saddle with a Tusq saddle and the difference was definitely noticeable. The sound is now much brighter and clearer. I think Tusq is really hard to beat and its easy to shape. Highly recommended.

Not bone tone

By Stewart from Vermont
(Customer's Reviews) Saturday, March 24, 2012

This saddle was very easy to trim and shape and is very solid. I like the tone as well, but I can't say it's bone tone. Although I used one of these to improve my son's Martin OMCX1KE (no question and improvement) and one to replace the worn saddle on a old Takamine jazz guitar, I would consider it a step down on my Collings.

Fit Nice
