Preservation Polish

About This Item

Silicone-free and repair shop friendly, with no wax or silicone residues. 12-ounce bottle.

Preservation Polish gently cleans, polishes and protects lacquer and varnish finishes.

Ordinary guitar polishes shine by leaving a long-lasting silicone residue that's very hard to remove. If your guitar ever needs a repair, the silicone will prevent glue or finish from adhering, making even simple repairs more difficult and costly.

Simply apply Preservation Polish with a clean cotton cloth. It leaves no wax or silicone residues, so there's no cloudy film, stickiness or build-up. And it won't discolor the patina of vintage finishes.

Luthiers and repair shops: You've learned the hard way that guitars and silicone are bad company. Silicone residue makes it difficult for glue or finish to adhere properly and is a primary cause of "fisheyes" and cratering in lacquer finishes. It's even worse if silicone reaches bare wood or gets into the cracks of older finishes. Even the simplest finish repairs can become more difficult, time-consuming and costly. Do your colleagues a favor — use Preservation Polish and recommend it to your customers!

Been using the Dunlop stuff for years and decided to give this a shot and I'm glad I did. Made my tele shine like it hasn't in years. Won't be going back to the Dunlop stuff, preservation polish all the way!

I've been using various guitar polishes for many years and this truly is the best that I have ever found. It is super easy to apply and remove and leaves no greasy residue like some of the other products on the market. It works equally as well on the wood and metal components. I'll be sticking with this product from now on.

This worked nice. I have to wrestle my guitars around so much after they are wet finished with remaining work, it is disappointing. Flaws jump out at me. I get disappointed. My junky substandard inlays of silver, stone, mother of pearl, eggs shell embarrasses me. Smudges. Places I had to do 1200 grit sanding. I put this polish on and smile. Then it looks hand made and new.

I use this on my own, and clients' guitars. Love the fact that it seems non-greasy, and does not hinder left hand slides on the neck.

I have tried other brands, and they just seem to smear around. This one goes on and comes off clean. Also, no silicone. Some polishes don't even say.
