Why did it take me so long to try this product?

Stew Mac Guitar Grease is hands down the greatest product I have found to help maintain perfect tuning on all my guitars. I play hard and bend the heck out of my strings and I always have had problems going out of tune. Not any more! This stuff is the magic sauce. A huge thank you Stew Mac!

Not gooey and messy. I apply it with a toothpick and it works great

Not that great.

Really hard to apply so it stays in the nut slot. Any tuning just pulls this stuff out of the slot.

Tuning Stability

Noticed a big increase in tuning stability (especially on my LPs G&D strings) after applying. Now a regular step in my set ups.

Greasy Monkey

Simply love it! Goes a long way in allowing strings better deal with friction stresses caused by the laws of physics involved in stringed instruments. I do a lot of string bending on my acoustic, not to mention frequently changing the tuning, and have noticed significant improvements in tuning stability using the Guitar Grease. Haven't had the chance to test tuning stability on my Strat's tremolo system just yet due to a still ongoing modding project. But I'm sure the result will be no less impressive!
In conclusion, your hands might stink like a racing car mechanic afterwards, but the results are definitely worth it! Nothing a little hand soap can't remedy of course :).
Definitely recommend!

Works well for what it is

Was not sure how well this would work in the nut grooves but it does lube the strings effectively. First time I've lubed the nut and was really surprised at how much quicker and more accurately the guitar tunes. Works well for my application and didn't cost much. What's not to like?

The only lubricant I put on my nuts.

It looks black in the jar, but it is quite transparent when applied.
