About This Item

Hard rock maple with a thin, vintage tint finish. These necks look and play great!

Choose solid maple or a rosewood fingerboard. All have a single-action truss rod and the traditional walnut "skunk stripe" down the back.

  • Thin polyurethane finish
  • 22 frets
  • Maple or rosewood fingerboard
  • Peghead-adjustable truss rod (for 4mm Allen wrench)
  • Traditional dot inlays
  • 10mm diameter pegholes
  • Without mounting holes, so you can drill to fit your body

Peghead is drilled for 6-in-line tuning machines. 10mm-diameter holes fit sealed gear tuners with threaded peghead bushing. See all tuners.

Ideally, the neck should just drop into the neck-pocket, or be a little snug. Don't force the neck into the pocket. If the body is unfinished, remember that the finish will make the neck pocket smaller with lacquer build up on the edge of the rout. Be sure to compensate for the finish buildup or the neck will be too tight after finishing.

nice Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard + shorty bridge

Great fit, great looking Rosewood, frets are well done, nice upgrade to a MIM Tele. I also used the shorty bridge to mount the pickup directly into the body. Sounds good.

Beautiful neck at a resonable price!

Just used two of these to keep the cost down and save time on two builds and am thrilled at the finished pieces! Other than replacing the nut with bone, I didn't need to do any tweeking of the frets or finish. They both play smoothly and look fantastic! Thanks Stewmac!

Solid Maple

By

I ordered this guitar with the "maple fretboard" to my surprise this is a solid maple neck "no fretboard". I have seen other necks with the maple fretboard and you can see by the wood grain its 2 pieces of wood. But this neck is only 1 piece of wood and as I suspect it resonates great, and it does.

A good maple neck sound

A good rate between price and quality, just few normal adjustements to make. And it sound really great. Good shape. And I thank Stewmac for its commercial policy, as the first invoice had a shape problem, there was no problem to quicly replace it.

Great neck

I ordered this neck for my knotty pine Tele build. The neck was very well packaged, and arrived with my other items quickly. Checked with my straight edge right of the box and neck was perfectly straight, no warping. Frets were well dressed and straight in relation to fretboard. I love the neck profile. Tuners holes nicely done. Been playing it now for 2 months, only complaint is plastic nut(reason for 4 stars) Installed Zero Glide zero fret and love it. Barre chords played with ease.

SURPRISE - High Quality Neck

By

I purchased this "cheap" neck with low expectations on fit and finish to try out a maple fret board. However, the "thin poly finish" turned out to be more than 6 mils thick. I had to sand off the excess to get the neck into the pocket for a nice snug fit. The fret work is flawless, and the truss rod works well,
This MM neck is attached to a AAA grade flame maple top with a tobacco burst finish. All the band had to say was , "wow, what a beautiful guitar".

love this neck

this neck is flawless has a beautiful finish and a great looking rosewood fret board, I bought this neck for a telecaster project that was going south on me, I had purchased a hand made neck from another vendor but when I received it and installed it I never felt or played the way I had expected, I had used necks from Stewmac on several other guitar projects so I decided to trash the handmade neck and go with the quality of this neck...
what a difference my guitar plays like a million bucks, I have had several offers from people wanting to buy it but I will not part with it..
great parts and great service from a vendor you can trust

building a parts caster. great looking neck for the bucks. I replaced the nut with a black tusq nut, installed black gotoh tuners and black tusq string trees. neck is flat, frets need a little work, but will look and play great when installed
