Slotted Fingerboard for Fender Guitar

About This Item

25.5" scale • 12" radius • 24 slots + nut slot
Each fingerboard is radiused and extended to include a 1/8" flat-bottomed nut slot, Fender style.

Tip: Saw the fingerboard shorter at the 2nd fret (at the nut end) to install it on a Gibson 22-3/4" short scale guitar.

Our kiln-dried fingerboards have flat undersides, are unfretted (no inlays), and ready for trimming to fit a variety of neck widths.

Approximate dimensions: 2-3/8" x 20-3/8" x 15/64" (60.32mm x 517.53mm x 5.95mm)
Radius: 12" (304.80mm)
Fret slots: 24 slots, 0.023" wide (0.58mm). Ready to accept our fretwire.
Nut slot: 1/8" wide (3.18mm)

Important:
Ebony is usually not uniformly black.
We offer Black Fingerboard Stain, as used by Gibson®, Paul Reed Smith® and other makers for darkening the streaks on ebony fingerboards, bridges and peghead overlays.

I Bought This For A Neck Build...

I got this fretboard for building a two-piece neck. It is a very pretty piece of wood that is working great for my purposes.

Excellent Quatity - Good Value

These replacement fret boards are great. High quality materials, precision fret slots, and perfectly radiused. While we can make these in our shop, it's cheaper - and easier - to buy these pre-made. I just used a 25" flat rosewood fret board on a 1936 Regal resonator restoration, and it looks great. Stew Mac is our go-to for tools and materials.

Maple fingerboard - good and bad

By
(Customer's Reviews)

When I order f-boards, I typically get the rosewood and generally like the appearance... had to use a maple board this time, and while it is nicely manufactured, it's not an attractive piece of wood. If my project needed a pretty fingerboard, I wouldn't be able to use this one. Other than it lacking any amount of beauty, it is well manufactured. Sometime it's better to pick the wood and do the labor to get what you really want.

Excellent!

Have purchased 2 of these recently, very pleased with both pieces. The ebony is a nice cut, radiused, and slotted perfectly for SM fretwire.

These do take a bit of sanding to get perfectly level, so make sure to buy a 12" radiused sanding block with your order.

I asked if Stewmac could pick out a nice dark piece, the piece I got was really beautiful with accurate fret cuts and accurate radius.

Wood quality

Great fingerboard. The wood was straight and well-radiused, but could you start quarter-sawing them? Thanks!

These boards are fantastic!

By

The quality of the wood is first rate. Mind you, they aren't cheap like what you may find online cause these are the real deal. The slots are perfect and they are really simple. Much cheaper than milling, sanding radius and slotting one by hand. The only drawback is that they don't come in figured maple or any other exotic wood but the three species offered cover most of the basics.
