For a model of the 1852 yacht America I needed sitka spruce for the masts and spars.
Was delighted to find just the right size and quality to fabricate and laminate these. And it has me thinking about making a dreadnought guitar!
Thank you SW for the great quality and prompt shipping...

great quality!

I originally bought some braces off of Ebay, but discovered they were not long enough for my jumbo guitar (they were 18") So I bought a couple of these for the x-brace. These are clearly much older and harder than the Ebay braces, they sing with a bell-like tone when sawed and filed. The others, not so much. One of these makes 4 regular size braces, so it was a better value than I initially realized.

The brace wood I received was of a very high quality. Really very pleased. Seriously considering using this wood on a regular basis.

Lightweight, stiff, resonant and really easy to carve.

Was hoping it would be a little reddish in appearance, to match older Martins, but the piece I got is very white. Still nice quality wood.

Three pieces gave me a bit more than I needed for a Grand Auditorium so I will have some extra for my next build.
