25.5" scale • 12" radius • 24 slots + nut slot
Each fingerboard is radiused and extended to include a 1/8" flat-bottomed nut slot, Fender style.

Tip: Saw the fingerboard shorter at the 2nd fret (at the nut end) to install it on a Gibson 22-3/4" short scale guitar.

Our kiln-dried fingerboards have flat undersides, are unfretted (no inlays), and ready for trimming to fit a variety of neck widths.

Approximate dimensions: 2-3/8" x 20-3/8" x 15/64" (60.32mm x 517.53mm x 5.95mm)
Radius: 12" (304.80mm)
Fret slots: 24 slots, 0.023" wide (0.58mm). Ready to accept our fretwire.
Nut slot: 1/8" wide (3.18mm)

A note about ebony:
Ebony is usually not uniformly black. We offer Black Fingerboard Stain, as used by Gibson, Paul Reed Smith and other makers, for darkening the streaks on ebony fingerboards, bridges and peghead overlays when desired.

I asked if Stewmac could pick out a nice dark piece, the piece I got was really beautiful with accurate fret cuts and accurate radius.

Ordered this maple board twice, first one was almost perfect, but second one with defect. But Stewmac`s Customer Service kindly solved the problem. Thank you for opportunity to see famous Customer Service in action :)

Wood quality

Great fingerboard. The wood was straight and well-radiused, but could you start quarter-sawing them? Thanks!

These boards are fantastic!

The quality of the wood is first rate. Mind you, they aren't cheap like what you may find online cause these are the real deal. The slots are perfect and they are really simple. Much cheaper than milling, sanding radius and slotting one by hand. The only drawback is that they don't come in figured maple or any other exotic wood but the three species offered cover most of the basics.

pre-slotted fretboards

I started out using these. Wonderful product. I progressed to cutting my own, since I can use more exotic woods than offered here. But I am seriously considering using these again whenever I'm using rosewood, ebony or maple. Saves a lot of time and makes a ton of sense.

Good but

By Carl Pugh from Mobile, Alabama

I purchase 3 of the maple, because I was having planer issues. They looked great and the scale was accurate, but one of them had a nice chunk missing not to far from the nut slot. The only thing that saved me from returning it was that the board is oversized and that chunk was cut off anyway. Other than that no complaints.

Ordered four or so, always very nice wood, no problems.

Good Product

Very precise slots. Only complaint is that there was considerable chatter of the cutter when the radius was cut. Required a lot of sanding to get smooth.

Maple fretboard slotted for Fender

By Jim Weiland from Cincinnati, OH

I use these for one off guitars. I've used a few to create a 24 inch scale putting a zero fret in the first fret slot and sawing off the remainder. These always seem to seat the fret very well and are very level. I've never had any buzz anywhere on the neck. I'll keep using them and would highly recommend them.
