Not bright white

By Kevin Smith from Atlanta, GA
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, January 24, 2011

I use these because the white wood is maple. Other bought purflings use white fiber that is very white, and that does not work well with my "all wood" aesthetic. This is the next best thing to shop-made flame maple purfling.

A good product, but some variation in quality

By Fred Hocker from Stockholm, Sweden
(Customer's Reviews) Monday, August 30, 2010

I have purchased a lot of this product, since StewMac offers it reliably at a fair price. I have noticed that there seem to be two different manufacturers or sources, one of which uses a dull-finished black fibre, the other shiny. The shiny variety does not bend as smoothly in tight radii as the dull, especially if you are trying to make side purflings. For top and back purflings they both work well and both finish well, with consistent color and no blotchiness.

The best quality purfing available

I have tried various purfling from a range of suppliers and have settled on these as standard. The quality of materials and consistency is the best I have come across.
