these purfing have some places where wood was really soft- had a flaw (defect) but I take care. As you know: wood have its own lows...

Laminated Wood Purfling

I like the effect by using maple as the white core or edge. When finished, there is a 3d effect and the maple grain does show. I have noticed some inconsistency in the width of the purfling although the thickness is very consistent. I wish it were available in longer lengths to avoid the splice required when working around a top or bottom.

Laminated wood perfling

Well I have to say that the first lot I ordered was no good it just cracked when I tried to bend it. So I told Stewmac about it and they replaced it at no cost. This lot bent like a dream with no problems. I have used this stuff from Stewmac in the past and never had a problem before.

black and white purfling

(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, October 18, 2012

This stuff is fine, and the most reminiscent that I can find in the Stewmac catalog to the old celluloid black and white purfling Gibson used in the 1930's. The dimensions and material are wrong, but 2 rows of this wood purfling has become my signature. Sure wish they would produce a replca of the old Gibson style purfling. That would make my day, week, month, . . .

I've tried a lot of bindings, but these are truly the best. They don't break (easely) when you bend them. Though not cheap, they're worth the money.

The best BWBs- super clean white

By Beau Hannam Guitars from Grand Junction, CO
(Customer's Reviews) Thursday, May 24, 2012

I love Stew Macs BWB's as they hold together when mitering at any angle and are crispy white. Would like to see SM stock double length BWB's which are really nice to use, especially on a top with shell purfling. (Pic is Bloodwood Parlor guitar with 7 miter joints showing.....fun....)

Perfect purfling

Great time saver, and very neat too. If your ledge is cut accurately, this stuff works wonderfully well.
