Unique shape for better control! Stainless-steel slide is a favorite for resophonic and 6-string lap steel guitars.

Designed by musicians with the special demands of today's playing styles in mind, this SP2 model features cutaway ends for improved control of single notes and pulloffs. A favorite for resophonic and 6-string lap steel guitars, it's specially shaped for good balance, with extra mass for great tone.

Shubb-Pearse's unplated stainless steel resists nicks and scratches far better than a plated bar.
And if it ever should get a nick or scratch, it can be buffed out, unlike a plated bar.

No plating to wear off.
Any plated bar will wear down, and people end up replacing them. A stainless bar will remain as good as new indefinitely — outlasting a drawer full of worn out plated bars.

Double cutaway with semi bulleted tip, 2-7/8" length.

A fine bar

I'm using my SP2 for lap steel. Was using a Stevens bar which tended to catch on the strings when moving across them. Not a problem with the SP2. And the current ones are made of solid stainless steel, not plated like the older ones. So if I treat it well, it should last a long, long time. The finish is very smooth; it won't cause undue string noise. All in all, I'm well pleased!

Great tone - slightly heavy

I bought this steel for Dobro because of the "bullet tip" - it really helps to avoid catching the tip of the steel when sliding across towards the thinner strings. The stainless steel is finished VERY well and is noticeably better than my Lap Dawg. I find it a bit too tall and long for 6 strings - this also makes it heavy, thus more hand fatigue than the lighter Lap Dawg. Great tone.

The best companion to your lap steel may have. Product with excellent quality. Play Lap Steel has become much easier with SP2

Shubb-Pearse guitar steel

Having just gotten an old lap steel back in working order, I thought trying a guitar steel might be better than attempting to use a slide and for the money, why not? This is a really beautiful piece of machined steel, a joy to hold and has a good weight to it. Now my only problem is getting good at using it. Even if you don't play steel guitar it makes a beautiful paper weight!

Beginner's luck

This is a great steel for myself, a beginner on the lap steel. It took me a while to figure out that the two ends are different. One is smooth for gliding across the fret board and the other is more distinct and is used for hammer-offs. I'm guess this will last me to my dying day and then my son can use it till his dying day.
