About This Item

Pinpoint those pesky high frets, and check the final height after you've redressed or replaced them, reach for the Fret Rocker!

Our 4-in-1 mini straightedge spans three frets and "rocks" to indicate uneven fret heights. Precision-machined for accuracy to .0015" per foot, the 4", 3", 2" and 1-5/16" edges make it versatile for any fretted instrument, from basses to guitars to mandolins.

The Fret Rocker is made of stainless steel with a durable finish for professional use. It's an indispensable diagnostic tool, before and after partial refretting and recrowning jobs. It lets you do more accurate fret work for better playability.

It works

(Customer's Reviews)

This is the first tool I reach for when I check out a guitar.

All edges burred

(Customer's Reviews)

Sorry stew-mac, I love many of your products, but this was disappointing.
I need to agree with Nick from the UK, mine was also delivered with burred/rough edges. I can easily see with the naked eye that the .0015" per foot precision stated in the description is not what I've got. I received it as a gift, so that takes a little of the sting out of having to level the edges myself, but I wouldn't be able to trust it's accuracy otherwise.

Overpriced but functional...

(Customer's Reviews)

This fret rocker is a useful piece of kit but is overpriced for the quality on offer. I assumed that at this price the reference edges would be smooth, alas not - I had to use a lapping plate to polish out the milling marks. The tool would probably have worked well enough without this extra effort but it looked more than a little rough and ready.

Had I known the edges would be rough I'd have bought a cheap one and lapped the edges smooth and flat.
