Special bits for templates! Extra-long carbide-tipped router bits produce clean, precise body cavities when used with our templates.

The ball-bearing guide matches the cutting diameter, and the long shank allows multiple-pass routing for deep cavities.

The 1/2" diameter bit is recommended for most of your routing chores, and comes with 1 bearing. Use the 3/8" cutter only for routing corners that need the tighter radius, it comes with 2 bearings.

Sold individually or SAVE when you buy the set of both router bits.

Shank diameter: 1/4" (6.35mm)
Cutting height: 1/2" (12.7mm)

A heat-resistant sleeve (not shown) holds the bearing in position. We recommend stacking an extra bearing on the shank for deep cavities, and use the 3/8" bit only for routing corners.

Tip: We recommend that you change the position of stacked bearings on the router bit's shank every time your re-chuck in the bit into your router. This will greatly extend the life of the bearings and reduces the risk of a bearing "blow-out."

Old days were better.

I¦ve been buying these router bits for 5 years now, and there is a considerable variation in bearing/cutter sizes. The first ones used to be dead accurate, but the newer ones sometimes cut a little more than the bearing. Each surface the bearing rides is going to be cutted in a different way, and that can compromise the creating and use of templates. I suggest Stewmac goes more seriously on quality control, no matter where they come from.

Perfect size for small cavities. Sharp and precise. Worth the money. This bits only need a top collar to be perfect.

I have several brands of high quality routing bits and none of them rust. These one does they rust on the edges and I don't know why? I think that the ball bearing is too thin. Otherwise, it does the job.

Cuts Great!

I bought the set of two and have used them to hog out a ton of maple in my guitar and they have worked amazingly well! I would recommend getting an extra bearing for the 1/2 diameter because I was forced to buy an entire new bit from woodcraft because my bearing broke. But as always they replaced it free of charge!

These are great bits, perfectly suited to the daily chores of pickup cavity routing, etc. They have suffered much use without significant dulling of their cutting edges and are the perfect size that is hard to find elsewhere.
