Guitar Tuner Drill Jigs

About This Item

Keeps pegholes perfectly aligned and spaced so your tuners will work efficiently.

These jigs align your hand drill correctly for 1/4" pegholes, so your tuners will be accurately aligned and spaced. Use them for new instruments, or to correct tuning problems caused by misaligned pegholes.

Item   String post spacing
2070 Jig for 3-on-plate tuners   Standard 1-3/8" (34.925mm)
2071 Jig for 6-in-line tuners   Fender 15/16" (23.8125mm)

Made of machined steel for a lifetime of use and specially coated to resist corrosion. Each jig includes two steel transfer pins, two steel alignment pins and instructions.

The jigs are for use with a 1/4"-diameter bit. To enlarger pegholes, or to counterboring for bushings, remove the jig after drilling, and use a Peghead Bushing Reamer.

Great for Klusons

(Customer's Reviews)

I've used this on two necks so far and the spacing is right for Kluson vintage style keys where the spacing and alignment are critical. When used with the peghole bushing reamers it makes for a very easy install. I wouldn't bother with this guide for other types of keys where the alignment isn't as critical down to the thousandth.

Extremely frustrated.

(Customer's Reviews)

Although I have to take most of the blame because of my lack of experience this drilling jig was useless for me. I could've done better by eye. It was clumsy, awkward and frustrating to clamp up. Unless your head stock is a "Usual shape" and square. My head stock shape was that of the Benedetto guitar. Setting up places to drill was hard for me. I was trying to stick to the measurements in the Bob Benedetto video for an Archtop and this just was not the right thing for me to use. I tried to make it work for me by just using it to drill one hole at a time at right angles and not use the 3 hole alignment concept, (because of the different measurements) but that probably was the only way for this thing to hold true and work properly. Again, my inexperience takes most of the blame but I wish there was more information when I bought it.

Solid & Accurate!

(Customer's Reviews)

After several failed attempts to make my own jig I decided to bite the bullet and purchase one of these puppies. The price was a bit of a deterrent but I sucked it up and bought one. With in 15 mins of opening it I had perfectly drilled accurately spaced holes. I will be using this again and again. Well worth the money! Another great Stew-Mac product!!!
