Regular machinist's file

Although it can be a favorite tool for Martin Company or whatever, keep in mind that it's just a file. Literally nothing special about it. It's not even perfectly flat (but good enough).

Kitchen table-top tech work.

I try out a lot of saddle materials, working with large sized blanks. Previously, the removing of large sections of material meant my using a small hand-saw. This file works as fast, possibly faster, and is easier on the hands. I fine tune with the thin Nut and Saddle Shaping Files, the Set of 2.

gets a lot of use

I'm kind of surprised how often I use this little file. The smooth sides are really helpful. I use this to straighten the end graft channel and the smooth sides don't cut into the top and back.
Well worth the 10 bucks.

Surprisingly useful

I love this little bastard. Get it? File humor. Anyway, I was skeptical that this would prove so useful, but I use it all the time. It cuts aggressively, but not on much so. Worth the ten bucks.

Spunky!

This is a great little file for general purpose work requiring a safe edge and a good agressive cut, worked very well on bone and was excellent for nut shelf work. Recommended, and the price is definitely right!
