Soundhole Clamps

About This Item

These clamps reach where others can't. Ideal for clamping bridges and braces through a soundhole.

Our popular soundhole clamps feature strong steel frames, light weight and slim profiles for multiple clamping through the soundhole of a classical or steel-string guitar. Ideal for clamping bridges and braces through a soundhole. Available in four lengths. Leveling screw gives extra support for clamping bridges and braces. The 7", 9" and 11" models have a special leveling screw to help support the clamp's weight and prevent unwanted bending of the soundboard.

The shorter clamps give increased clamping coverage at the guitar's bridge and shoulder areas.

Our soundhole clamps also have knurled thumbscrews, height-adjustable jaw screws for clearance of internal braces, and jaw feet that swivel to conform to uneven surfaces (maximum opening is 1-7/8"). Each clamp is 1/2" (12.7mm) wide.

Prevent dents: Check out our Soundhole Clamp Cauls that snap onto the feet of these clamps for a larger clamping footprint, padded surface, and grooves that make it easier to clamp on braces.

Not a Great Clamp

By

I find these clamps too flimsy as they will twist under moderate pressure. Not good when gluing up bridges. Stew Mac : I appreciate your return policy, but it would be great if you found a better 7" clamp. Mean while I'll keep looking for one.

I have been in the repair biz for over 35 years.. I have the old herco clamps and the waverlys .. and the IBEX.. these are WEAKEST clamps I have ever used.. sorry . They bend sideways and the clamps are starting to strip at the threads... I have 5 of these and all are not behaving correctly.. I wish I could return them.. but.. Stewmac doesn't have good clamp.. to replace these..

11" Excellent Light and Strong clamp

By

Verified Buyer

I have sets of the 7" & 5" (for guitar and uke bridges) and needed an 11" for some repair work.
This clamp reached right to the far end of the lower bout of this guitar and stayed rigid while clamping.
At this long length, It's light weight is a real bonus.
Thanks!

Great Customer Service

I bought 3 of the 5" Sound Hole clamps for Acoustic Guitar. One of them was faulty & was replaced in a very timely fashion without requiring a return of the defective one. In other words, they took my word for it. I completely respect that. I am a "Just starting up" repair shop, so I will definitely be a repeat / return customer as I am going to need lots of tools.

Reaches far-away spots, but not too far

The 5 inch clamp was perfect for areas just out of reach of standard clamps. Anything deeper would have overshot the area of concern.

Bridge Clamps

Worked as they are supposed to. Bridge has held up in the weeks passed. Didnt use a caul. Just 3 clamps and cardboard underneath top only.

Sound hole clamps and customer service.

By

I use these clamps routinely for bridge resets. This time I needed the next size smaller. I had an amazingly good experience with StewMac Customer Service. By mistake (my mistake!) I ordered the wrong size. Meanwhile my client is waiting. When the clamps arrived, I discovered I had ordered the wrong size. I called customer service and explained my situation. I asked if he could send 4 clamps the right size before he received back from me the ones I'd ordered in error. He said, to my surprise, yes they could do that. They arrived the next day. Happy client, happy ending. Thank you StewMac.

These clamps were the perfect thing I needed to re-glue a bridge on a Classical guitar. The clamps really 'held-it-together'!
