Each pin tapers from .265" to .116" (6.73mm to 2.95mm)

Waste of $5 for me.

These haven't fit any bridge repairs adequately so far. I am sticking with wooden dowels wrapped in plumber's Teflon tape. They cost about 95% less and they FIT! These don't fit anything well enough to gain one iota of confidence from me. The pitch on these is way too sharp, and I can't clamp over them, unless I trim them down on both sides, so these were a mistake, I won't make again. 1/4" or 3/16" dowels chucked into a drill tapered, trimmed & wrapped in Teflon take about 2 minutes to make, and cost about 8 cents each. The dowels pop right out, and the Teflon peels free, whether I use hot hide glue, fish glue, Tite Bond, or even special wood epoxy glues. The slop on these and the cost is just not prudent for use in my shop. Every tool in that picture, except one bridge clam, the acetyl plastic cauls, & top protectors comes from Stewmac. I double up on bridge clamps for 12 strings. The Stewmac bridge clamps mate perfectly with clamps I had custom machined. I have even repaired an 18 string acoustic. NOW THAT HAS SOME STRING TENSION! I have to plug all 18 holes, and these plugs are just not the way to do it.

I use these locating pins to (re)open checks btwn bridge pin holes, simulating effect under string tension. Whack a few of these in the holes, apply #10 thin super glue, remove the non-stick locating pins, and voila! One more cool tool I didn't have to custom make. thanks guys!

Worked Very Well.

These were a great help when installing a new bridge. They were easily removed when the glue dried and the holes were clean.

Locating Pins - Good Idea

By

For $5 I can't complain. These pins were too thick to use on my vintage Crown. Once they were firmly in place the bridge still had wiggle room. I'll shave a couple these to fit next the guitar.

Great value

For the cost of these, their usefulness is great. It made repairing a bridge much easier, allowing for quick alignment over the original holes and keeping the glue from flooding in to them.

simple, effective and a really good product

This is such as simple item but it works really well and the glue does not adhere to them. Recent guitar in for a bridge reset but the peg holes were worn to the point where the pegs were loose in the holes. Normally I would use two of the pegs to align but in this case, that was not an option. Using the locating pegs completed the job beautifully. Oh! incidentally I did tell the customer he needed remedial action on his bridge which he declined.

Pretty good

I am on the same vein as a previous reviewer. These work very well-however they do require a little hand work to get the right diameter to fit into peg holes correctly. After that, they work great-just used them last week.

I buy several sets and custom cut them for each job. They keep the bridge plates in place when doing glue ups.

Made my job easy

After the finishing was completed and I took off the tape from the face were the bridge had previously been bolted on I used these pins to locate the bridge in the the reamed holes for gluing the bridge on. Worked perfectly and no problem with them sticking in the bridge.
