Bridge/Fingerboard Removal Knife

About This Item

This wooden-handled steel spatula has a versatile shape for removing a bridge, pickguard, or fingerboard extension from a flattop guitar.

The tapered blade helps separate the glue seam. It's flexible, so it stays down while you hold the handle safely off the guitar top.

The 3-7/8" (98.43mm) blade tapers .045" to .010" from handle to tip (1.14mm to 0.25mm).

Warm the glued area first, to help break the bond and protect the wood while using the tool. For repair situations when a hot knife is needed, use a hot plate to heat the blade.

Not for heavy work

I agree with other reviewers who had their spatulas fold in use. Light, careful use in removing a fingerboard under heat bent mine pretty seriously. It is thin, however, and will slip into some tight spaces.

Good Tool

Works very well. For those of you having issues with it being to flimsy well that's kind of the point. It is very thin but that's what you need. Get the glue hot enough and it slips right under.

Cleanest bridge removal ever

The shape, size, and flexibility of this knife did a perfect job in removing the bridge from a 41 year old acoustic guitar without a single splinter.
