Attach to your Dremel to cut purfling channels and soundhole rosettes.

We designed this machined aluminum attachment for cutting purfling channels along the edge of a profiled, unglued violin plate; an unglued fingerboard; or for rosette channels around a guitar soundhole (round or oval). It guides the cutter bit along tight curves and helps maintain constant routing distance from the edge.

Simply unscrew the plastic collar from your Dremel tool, screw the tool into the guide, and set the depth of cut with the tool's chuck. The cutting distance from the edge is adjustable. The guide is easy to handle and gives a good view of the work.

Base of the tool is 2-3/8" x 1" (60.32mm x 25.40mm)
Sliding platform is 4-1/8" x 1" (104.77mm x 25.40mm)
Overall height is 2" (50.80mm), plus thumbscrew

The cutting distance from the edge can be adjusted up to approximately 1" (25.40mm).

Stop what You are doing and Buy One Now! This is probably the most versitale tool in my shop ! You have 360 degree view of your routing bit, fits comfortable in your hand, you can free hand scroll or the easy adjustment. You may think a bit pricy, but this is Heavy Duty Stew Mac Quality! No cheap plastic parts! I would expect to get many years service from this tool. Great for inlay work, binding and most all routing jobs. Small footprint allows working around tight corners. Just another Incredible "Must Have" tool from Stew Mac ! 5-Stars !!!

It works great for purfling and routing, and is even better (to my needs) when taken apart: It turns into a sturdy metal holder for the dremel tool, making it possible to attach the dremel in a variety of jigs, for straight cutting and for planning difficult areas, such as the inside of a heel joint in a lespaul.

I just completed the first inlay on my fiddle using this guide. It worked great. Looking forward to future use.

This amazing contraption from stewmac.com ranks in my all time top ten tool list, this really is saying something.....

As this tool is a power attachment it should not strictly be on the list, but it saves me 4 hours of solid concentration cutting the channel by hand. (per violin plate) I do 5 or 6 fiddles at a time. you do the math.

It saves me time and money and allows me to get on with the jobs I enjoy.
