StewMac Guitar Bench Pad

About This Item

Grit-free work surface.
A quick brush or shake sweeps away filings and solder bits that cause scratches. The supple, dense polyisoprene is non-reactive and safe for guitar finishes.

It's tough enough to survive years of abuse. The non-slip surface won't slide around as you work.

"We tried every kind of material, looking for the perfect bench mat. We finally found it!"
—Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Our Bench Pad is twice as thick as other mats, so your guitars are much better protected. Even the color was chosen for guitar work: unlike black surfaces, tiny parts and wood shavings show up clearly on this pad, so you know it’s time to sweep up!

Tip: Cut the mat into small grip pads for drill press tables or for use under sharpening stones. Great for holding vintage necks in a vise, too.

18" x 24" x 3/16" (457mm x 610mm x 4.76mm)

SAVE when you buy the Guitar Bench Pad with these neck supports:

StewMac Deadblow Neck Rest: a shock-absorbing support that conforms to fit any instrument on your bench. It solidly absorbs hammer blows during fretwork.

Rock-n-Roller Neck Rests: Set of 2 tilting, self-leveling contoured wooden neck cradles to fit any guitar or bass.

Deluxe Rock-n-Roller Neck Rest: Set of 2 solid hardwood cradles with soft cork for finish protection. This Deluxe version adds extra support cauls and the ability to clamp to your workbench.

Love my new StewMac Bench Pad. It has the right weight and durability for my shop bench. It's soft enough to absorb any edges on your instrument bodies. It is easy to wipe clean or vacuum. Quality product!

Time for something new

My old foam and neck stand were showing their age, so I decided to replace them. I read about these mats, and what buyers thought of them, after their purchase. Reviews were mostly positive, so I ordered one. Liked it so much, I ordered one more, and now I have two stations to work from in the shop! no slips, scratches, or trouble cleaning. Very happy with these mats.

Great upgrade

A nice upgrade to rest the guitar on compared to anything else I've used. I especially like that the mat grips the table and the guitar so nothing slides around. I shouldn't have waited so long before I purchased it.

Nice mat for my setup needs and resting the guitar on it's back or front. I use this along with the rock roller neck rest. Perfect way to lay them flat with solid support.

What's not to like other than wishing it were longer for longer benches.
Then again.... just buy two like I did.
No slipping n sliding, nice cushion.

StewMac Guitar Bench Pad

Nice thick and soft material. A little smaller than I had hoped but that's my fault for not checking the dimensions.

great bench pad

so much better than carpet or leather. I've had a few other manufacturer's guitar tech pads, and they always didn't last very long. I'll be getting another to cut up for doing electronics and jobs over a guitar.

Great addition to the bench

By

I had used rubberized (perforated) shelf lining for a bench mat. A friend used rectangles of carpet remnant, Needless to say, this beats the pants off both. It's a good size and allows you to work on an instrument aggressively (sanding etc.) without having it slipping around on the mat. Water beads up on it when doing final finishes, making cleanup easy. I wouldn't want to do without it now.
