About This Item

For easy abalone purfling installation!
The "slick" way to install abalone purfling strips.

Rout the ledges along the edge of the guitar, sandwich a no-stick strip between the bindings, and glue and tape them in place. When dry, pull out the no-stick strip and glue the purflings into the channel. Fast and easy!

The strip is .062" x .095" x 36" (1.68mm x 2.41mm x 914mm) and made of non-stick Teflon®.

Thickness not uniform

(Customer's Reviews)

The last strips I got were as thin as .058 and none more than .060. I did not measure and had to thin my strips to install the pearl. I will not order any more as it took way too long to do the inlay. I guess the sheets these were cut from were too thin from your supplier.

Filler strip

(Customer's Reviews)

An inexpensive invaluable aid in creating a uniform channel for the pearl

(Customer's Reviews)

I don't think I have never seen anything so roughly cut - expected to receive item with reasonably clean edges, but they look like a dog's breakfast! Will require more work than making them.
