Rock On with One of These

About a year ago, I purchased an inexpensive Squire Affinity Strat HSS by Fender Electric Guitar for the sole purpose of disassembling the entire instrument and rebuilding it like you would a racing engine to make it fly like greased lightning. Of course, one area that needs to be paid attention to are any high frets. This is just the tool to identify those pesky critters. The design of this precision tool is ingenious having four sides of different lengths that takes into account the varying distances between frets as you go down the neck. The locations of high frets are easily identified. This is a must-have tool for fret leveling. Thanks StewMac!

This thing rocks!

The fret rocker makes leveling frets much more efficient. In addition, it can also be used as a straight edge and scrapper for woodworking.

Response from StewMac

We're happy to hear that you are enjoying your Fret Rocker. However, we do not advise burnishing one of the edges to be used as a scraper, as this could compromise the precision straight edge. You may be interested in the StewMac Ultimate Scapers.

Worth it!

I recently tried to save a few bucks and bought a similar looking fret rocker for $10 on another site. I found high frets all over my fretboard that I didn't even think were problem areas.....turns out 2 of the 5 sides were not perfectly straight!
I bought the stewmac one and was amazed how much better it was than the $10 one. Lesson learned. Just buy this one, you'll be happy you did.
After a quick check with the fret rocker and spot leveling (also with the medium fret file) my guitar is playing better than ever.

Astounding how well it worked. Found a lot of uneven frets that I did not know I had.

Great tool, time saver!

I saw this tool several times on the StewMac site before I purchased it. I bought a budget guitar that looked great but needed a ton of setup work. I also have a vintage Jazzmaster that buzzes like a bee. So, I picked up a Fret Rocker, and I'm glad that I did. This tool is easy to use (there is a demo video on the StewMac site too), and it pinpoints the high frets all along the neck with only the one tool. It is heavy and seem very well made. I love it, and would recommend it for anyone who is suffering from a case of fret buzz.

I somehow went 13 years without this tool. I don't know how I did that as I now consider it a must have checking tool for quality fret jobs.

Fret Rocker is a Necessary Tool!

After putting the Fret Rocker on my Line 6 Variax, it was obvious my guitar needed to go in for fret work. It was bad! The Variax is my practice guitar, and as I'm a prolific string bender, I managed to wear the frets down (unbeknownst to me) here and there over the entire fret board. My guitar plays SO much better because I was able to detect an issue I would not really have known about. Highly recommended!
