3M Stikit Self-adhesive Abrasives

About This Item

Efficient, durable, economical! Countless uses in repair shops. Professional grade 3M Gold sandpaper with handy self-adhesive backing.

Stikit™ abrasives cut like a file, and last longer than regular sandpaper. The sharp aluminum oxide grit is slower to load up with sanding dust, too. Outstanding durability and performance have made Stikit the favorite in our own shops.

  • The right width for our radius-sanding tools
  • Attach to your benchtop for a fast non-slip surface
  • Handy for quick custom sanding blocks
  • Countless uses in repair shops
  • Convenient sets for fretwork/finishing and general woodworking

Stikit papers are supplied in 15-yard rolls (45 feet / 13.71 meters), an economical length for small shops.

The 2-3/4" (69.85mm) width is a perfect fit for our professional levelers:

Attach Stikit for
Fret & Fingerboard Leveling
Fret/Fingerboard Levelers
Attach Stikit for
Precise Shaping
Aluminum Radius-sanding Beam
Attach Stikit for
Spot Leveling
4" Wooden Radius-sanding Blocks
8" Wooden Radius-sanding Blocks

Works on stainless frets, too!
All of our tools are suitable for use on stainless-steel fretwire, with the exception of our Fret Tang Nippers. Modern stainless-steel fretwire is known to be harder than the traditional nickel-silver blends, but our own shop experience indicates the wire does not cause premature wear of files or sandpapers.

good for fret leveling

Used this with the stew Mac leveling beam (16") for a refret with gold ego fretwire. This stuff is half again as hard as nickel silver. Came right down. Really good sandpaper.

Great Results

First time out with the 3M stikit gold. I used it with a wood radius block and took an almost flat fingerboard to 9.5 with great results. Nice and smooth. It stuck to the block with just the right amount of adhesion and peeled off effortlessly. This was my first attempt at this type of operation and am convinced this product is the way to go.

Worked like a champ!

I needed to level the fingerboard of my fretless and this self-adhesive sand paper did the trick!! Being totally new to doing this type of work to my basses, I was a little apprehensive. But followed very good pro advice and used the correct grits to complete the job and I am very happy with the results. I bought more paper than I needed and kinda wish I had looked to see if smaller rolls were available.

Good Stuff

I use this all the time. I use all the grits. I bought it mainly for radiusing fretboards but have found many other uses for it. Stick it to a flat surface and shave down saddles and nuts. Use compressed air to blow it out when radiusing. It'll last a lot longer!

Just so convenient

By

Have now realised I was wasting so much time using double sided tape to stick sandpaper sheets to my sanding cauls and levelling bars. These rolls are so easy to use and I've actually found that the paper is quite durable and I can get several fret levels from one application. Thoroughly recommend trying these.
