About This Item

Installs, removes, or tightens the jack. Loose Tele® output jack? Now you can easily install or remove the jack retainer clip with an allen wrench.

The Tele Jack Installation Tool flattens the clip so it firmly grabs the hole in the guitar body for secure jack mounting.

In putting my 1967 Tele back to spec with its original neck, pickups, hardware, etc., I discovered this tool online so that I could use the original input jack. This tool more than makes up for the lame design of Tele input jack brackets.

Used this tool to finish off current project, an Esquire and was having trouble seating the cup retainer clip in just the right place, this tool put it there and spread it out just so. Job done, minimum fuss, maximum result, great tool.

Great for removing dirty or worn jacks! The loose ones are usually ready to come out on their own.

I can straighten out a Tele Jack and pop it back in in about 3 minutes. We have been hammering the old plate retainers back flat on the anvil of a vise, rebending them, then heat treating & quenching them in our special 80 year old blended Mojo quenching oil for, well, 70 years. That is kinda when the Broadcaster came along. The Mojo quenching oil is blended from the finest mojo collected from saxaphone key oil, brass valve oils, and other instrument oils that we had blended by the late great blind master repair tech, who started repairing instruments during World War I, and made fortune fixing brass instruments during WWII. Actually, motor oil will work, but we chose to use our special Mojo oil. We dump the unsold oils into a can when the bottles start to fail, and use it, for whatever requires mojo. No need to sell someone a new retainer clip, if we can reuse the old one. Eventually those do break. I can slam the new ones in and they grab right & tight, but I started practicing in 1975, so this tool really helps with installs for the less initiated technicians. I don't let them swing hammers at instruments either. The pricing on this tool is really in line with the machining & quality too!! It's not a super well made tool, but it's definitely not junk, so under $20 is really a fair price. I wish Stewmac adhered to this pricing with all their great stuff. Their great service makes up for a lot of the pricing.

I enjoy building all types of Tele style guitars and, while not impossible, installing and removing the input jack retainer clip is a pain. NOT ANYMORE!!! With this brilliant tool it could not be easier and takes any guess work out of the situation. Perfect every time!!!

Prior to getting this I wasted time coming up with methods to install Tele jacks and the results were below average. I decided to buy this tool and save myself the stress. It works amazingly well. I went back and redid all previous tele's with perfect results. If your a Tele lover just get one.
