Jack The Gripper

About This Item

Ingenious! Holds the jack steady so you can tighten/loosen the nut without disassembling your instrument or amp.

A loose nut on a 1/4" jack is trouble. It's no fun to watch the jack disappear into your guitar or amp as the nut falls off, or to break a solder connection when you tighten the nut and the jack turns with it.

Designed by veteran repairman Frank Ford, Jack The Gripper is a smart tool that can save you a lot of time and work. Insert it into the jack, and the knurled cam locks in either direction, to hold the jack firmly while you tighten or loosen the nut.

Recessed jack? No problem—the tool also includes a clever adapter for use with your 3/8" square drive socket.

Instructions included.

Does exactly what it is supposed to. Just make sure to turn to opposite way than you are tightening.

Very first day i received my order wouldn't you know it... one of my guitars input jacks (while practicing) came loose...so i reached for Jack the Gripper fresh out of the box and in about 30-seconds or so i had it fixed and solid again.... Thanks Stew Mac for great quality and common sense tools... Mike (Luthier/Builder), Black Diamond Custom Guitar Shop USA

Simple & Effective

This is the greatest tool to FINALLY tighten up ALL the loose jacks on my substantial guitar and amp collection as well as to help fellow musicians with theirs. No more opening up gear to hold the back end, and no more jacks getting pushed back into guitar cavities or amp enclosures. Wish I had this for the past 35 years!! Oh, and a little tip from a guy who rode Harleys for decades on which EVERYTHING vibrates loose: a drop of BLUE Loctite on those threads will keep those connections nice and tight and still let you remove the connectors/jacks later if you need to.

One That Works

By
(Customer's Reviews)

I have tried Many jack tools. Some have even damaged the jacks, this is the One That Works. Jack The Gripper uses a cam action to hold the jack from turning, and with no damage to the jack. It's a little pricey, but well worth it.

Quick and handy

I found the prior reviews to be accurate; it's well-made, useful, if a bit costly. Considering that it won't really wear out, and this perennial problem of guitarists is so common, I figure I'll be using this for YEARS to come! Is it worth it? Depends...how much is your aggravation worth to you?

Great tool. I've replaced many a jack because I couldn't get the nut tight. I should never have this problem again. Now I can tighten my jacks without having to remove them or break the wires. Thanks StewMac

Good but confusing at first

By
(Customer's Reviews)

It may be just me, but i had a time getting it to lock into place on a jack replacement I did for a customer, i hand tightened it but in a semi hollow body i like to make sure its locked in and no room for any movement, This tool worked and it worked great but it is not as easy as they show in the video and in the description it is a great buy but alittle tricky at first
