Great router bit!

I used this bit to route into some highly figured redwood that was prone to splitting and tear out and it cut a perfect channel that I didn't have to clean up at all. Definitely worth the price. Having the wide selection of bearings is also very helpful.

I used inmediately after it arrived and was pretty delighted with the fact that it comes with its own allen wrench and spacer.

Thanks!

A very flexible binding and purfling cutter set.

With the full set of bearings, this binding router bit can cut rabbets of any depth and widths from .040" to .210" in 18 steps of .010". This is a very flexible set. And the latest version cuts cleaner at the surface due to a slight downcut angle.

But I would like to see a second cutter that could be used with these bearings (the bearings aren't cheap) to go to the next range, from .220" to .390". This would require that the cutter be a little over 1-1/4" in diameter. Even a slightly smaller cutter would be a big help. But it should fit the same bearings for maximum economy.

I am currently working on some guitars whose purfling will extend inward more than the .210" capacity of this setup, so I am having to use an alternate bit and bearing set that does not have the fine adjustability of the Stew Mac set.

Binding router bit

This was a replacement for years-old router bit, not quite as sharp as it once was and getting worn on the shank. As usual, the speed of delivery amazed me. Ordered from Melbourne on Friday, delivered to my doorstep on Monday! Thanks again for impeccable service and product.

Excellent, very sharp, smooth cut. Only negative is it dulls quickly on maple sides and backs. It stills is an essential tool.

Absolutely worth it.

Does the little bit of rake angle make an appreciable difference over a standard straight rabbeting bit? It sure does! I'm really pleased with the results.

No binding and no chipping. This blade helped me get smooth results when flush cutting and routing for binding.

a perfect fit and function

I bought the binding router bit and the .09 offset bearing to fit the .09 plastic binding. I am delighted, it was a perfect fit and left a small amount exposed that I easily took off with the scraper once the glue dried. I had telephoned and spoken with someone who couldn't answer the questions I had about bearing size match to the binding so to be on the safe side I also ordered a .08 bearing offset which wasn't needed. The bearing was easy to change on the bit, everything worked like a dream and I am a happy camper
